  1. Man, you love carrying water for those bosses of yours in Texas....or is it San Francisco. Good ole BC company Teck Resources seems to think otherwise. https://www.teck.com/operations/canada/projects/frontier-project/ These projects make enough to pay for themselves, provide good wages for hundreds of thousands and millions indirectly. I haven't heard about anyone trying to scrimp on reclamation costs. If it weren't for all the expenses to maintain environmental standards, which other countries don't worry about, there'd be a lot more money to spread around.
  2. Nah...didn't say that. The BC coast is mine as much as it is yours though, if that's what you mean. Actually I'd be fine if everyone had more of a direct ownership in the oil sands, but the wealth is in jobs, not royalties, and we do all share in that. The dollars Alberta gets in royalties are about enough to build roads and hospitals for the job refugees from the rest of the country. It's no gravy train, not right now at least.
  3. Borrow a piece of land for a decade...then turn it back to the bison and tadpoles. The new and now more common in situ method will be an easier fix.
  4. I've lived on the coast. It's not exactly pristine. The latest travesty you should be paying attention to is fish blood pumped directly into the ecosystem via underwater pipe from fish farms. Quit shaking your fist at clouds.
  5. Sixteen billion gone for Canadians this year because this guy doesn't want an extra boat cluttering his view of the inlet. https://www.fraserinstitute.org/studies/cost-of-pipeline-constraints-in-canada
  6. You think Canadian energy is a bad investment now? Good. We will see who's right and who's wrong going forward.
  7. Is the price bottomed out now? Have another look at the chart.
  8. Norway has oil (and no people). We manufacture ours.
  9. I have no issue with the plan. It would be worth more if the investments it has in Canadian energy did not go to near zero. The plan should go overweight Canadian energy now.
  10. The investment is small because the industry was destroyed.
  11. Crescent Point Energy management was saved today because it's largest shareholder, the CANADA PENSION PLAN backed them in a confidence vote. The only reason it may be a myth that our economy is driven by energy is that we are giving it up and embracing stagnation. Have you heard about Venezuela.
  12. I didn't know Green Energy was cheaper than fossil fuels. Source? Conventional power sources are even still required to back up the down days for the habitat destroying green energy. Here is some info on wind power. Wind energy needs a billion dollar a year subsidy in Britain. Now the wind turbines are conking out early. It will get worse. Compare that to the gazzillion tax dollars fossil fuels contribute to government coffers at the pump etc. How can governments replace their favorite cash cow? Not with costly solar or wind generated electricity. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/earth/energy/windpower/9770837/Wind-farm-turbines-wear-sooner-than-expected-says-study.html Wind farm turbines wear sooner than expected, says study Britain’s wind farms are wearing out far more rapidly than previously thought, making them more expensive as a result, according to an authoritative new study. Will the world end if Britain's landscape isn't covered in wind farms? Photo: David Noton Photography / Alamy By Robert Mendick, Chief Reporter 8:40AM GMT 30 Dec 2012 The analysis of almost 3,000 onshore wind turbines — the biggest study of its kind —warns that they will continue to generate electricity effectively for just 12 to 15 years. The wind energy industry and the Government base all their calculations on turbines enjoying a lifespan of 20 to 25 years. The study estimates that routine wear and tear will more than double the cost of electricity being produced by wind farms in the next decade. Older turbines will need to be replaced more quickly than the industry estimates while many more will need to be built onshore if the Government is to meet renewable energy targets by 2020. The extra cost is likely to be passed on to households, which already pay about £1 billion a year in a consumer subsidy that is added to electricity bills.
  13. Sure. Your opinions are probably formed by watching too much MSM as well. That's normal. I had made an edit to the post you responded to that might have toned down the perceived arrogance for you a bit.
  14. They likely form their opinions by watching MSM. Too bad for them. But they may like it better here anyway. As my 20 something hairdresser once consoled me during a confessional....everything happens for a reason....lol smh.
  15. This story why I support pipelines. Picking clams will not fund services for the needy. If Kinder Morgan and Northern Gateway were flowing today you would still be picking clams, you wouldn't be getting laid off and those kids would have a better chance in life.
