I want an explanation. Nothing in that thread violated any rules.

Can someone actually tell me what barstool has done to be so triggering? I can literally only find the Roenick thing. Seem's pretty weak, even for cancel culture.

Funny how something like this will be completely overlooked by those who claim to have "watched" Tryamkin over these years and still believe he's nothing more than a 7/8th dman plug.
you coulda tagged me bro
it's one clip. admittedly i havent watched him at all this season but what i saw out of him last season was a whole lotta brain farts in his own end. He gets lost sometimes. He gets turned around. He can be clunky going up against guys who know how to dance around him a bit. That was largely his issue when he first played with us and it's something i've yet to see him fix. So I stand by what I said.
Edit: it's kinda funny how you're still salty over that lmao- 1

Yeah, that is freaky to think about that Mikey is technically the next goalie up if Holtby or Demko go down. Mikey did have a pretty solid rookie season in the AHL but the more time down there, the better.
Guys like Garret Sparks, Landon Bow, Zane McIntyre, Michael Hutchinson, Andrew Hammond, and Jared Coreau are technically available if the Canucks want an AHL veteran goalie with some NHL experience as their 3rd string goalie. Sparks would be my pick personally. Though, Hammond, being a BC boy, would be an interesting signing too...
However, with the uncertainty of where the Canucks AHL team will play this year (whether that team will temporally play in Canada or not) -- I can understand why signing another goalie isn't a priority at the moment.
much higher chance we make a snap trade for a veteran 3rd stringer in that situation like we did with Domingue this year

You did not read what I quoted. Conversation was nothing about Schmidt. We were talking about Myers and his contract and the likelihood that Seattle takes him if we expose him now that we have Schmidt to protect. Try reading the full context of a post before responding.
My bad homie

Not saying its an anchor contract or anything. More: bottom 4 dman (he is 2nd pair now but will drop to 3rd pair in this contract) for 6m when they will likely have many options for 4th dmen who are cheaper based on how the draft is structured.
I think they could select cheaper options and then weaponize the cap to take some Staal type contracts (1 year) and load up on picks.
He had the 2nd highest minutes on a LV team that had better defence than we did last year. Was in the 97th percentile in terms of the quality of competition he faced. Ended up +11 with 30+ points playing against the best players in the league. He wore and 'A'. Some LV fans wanted him to be their captain. You're underrating him greatly.

Anyone have any insight on what his demise has been the past few years? Seems he didnt even have that great a year when he won a cup. Did it have something to do with the style of hockey the Caps played in front of him? Is he slowing down? Will a decreased workload help him? He's only 31... Seems a bit early for him to fall off a cliff. What's the deal?

Looking at twitter, it seems this is very very unconfirmed. The thread title tag should be changed to [Rumour].
From what it looks like, its a bidding war between Calgary and Edmonton at this point. -
Seeing some people on Calgary's side of twitter talking about 7 years $6M AAV?... but idk nothing official.

I know it was a fake report, but still.
Term and NMC... and cost of living in alberta.
1. $4.5M in AB is $5M in BC.
2. We did not want Markstrom for another 4 years.
3. We did want to give Markstrom a NMC, which would directly correlate to us losing Demko and relying on a 30+ year old goalie to carry this young core indefinitely.
If it turns out to be 4x$4.5M with an NMC. I think it's a good deal for Marky, a good deal for Calgary... and a deal I'm happy we didn't sign.- 1

Born 2005...go figure...it doesn't show at all. I wish someone would ban this guy! It's just trolling post after trolling post.
Actually he JOINED in 2005... Which is kind of impressive. This guy's been here longer than a lot of the mods lol.
Imo anyone with an account made 2010 or earlier should be ban immune. Gotta respect your OG's

If this is because it came down to OEL or Toffoli... I think I like this move. We'll see.

Used sock tape is too much to trade for the rights to Taylor Hall.
Don't need him. Don't want him. Every team he's been to has imploded.
to be fair, he's been on the edmonton oilers, nj devils, and arizona coyotes... those franchises are trash with or without him.

So was that also with a sweetener, or taking crap back too?
Likely not. I believe Benning told Barry he could seek out a trade for Loui but told him he would not be including a pick or sweetener. There was a report on this a little while back.

I like Dillon on our bottom pairing with Stecher. I think they would compliment each other perfectly actually. And both are solid defensive players who can play up in the lineup if needed. That the type of 3rd pairing you with a cup with.

What if we managed to trade Myers for him
Virtanen + Rathbone + Myers + Hoglander?
Is adding hoglander overpayment? Maybe Virtanen + Myers + Hoglander?
Am I stupid to put Hoglander on the table? -

Dumping the puck in, and carrying it across the blue line, without dropping it back, are also effective ways to enter the zone.
I'd like to see less drop pass and more of the other methods.
http://www.nhlspecialteams.com/blog/2016/3/5/which-specific-zone-entry-types-are-most-successful
this article talks about how while dumps and chips to lead to higher rate of zone entry, they ultimately lead to less shots on goal than drop pass entries specifically.
37 minutes ago, UKNuck96 said:Drop passes can be fine, but what the Canucks were doing was firing the puck back to their own blue line for a DMan to collect, so the issue of trapping at the blue line wasn’t resolved. Just the same issue different player.
effective drop passes the puck barely moves but the second players speed and angle is against the movement of the opposition allowing them to cut through. Same reason why in rugby a fast runner cutting back across the angle breaks tackles easier.
The vast spacing between passer and receiver is intentional. Most PK's forecheck in some variation of a 1-3 formation. The idea is to force the "1" back to to blueline so that they can't direct the play. Once you have all 4 defenders backed up, the player receiving the drop pass can more easily pick their lane into the ozone.

everyone who disagrees about the drop pass is wrong

In no specific order
Loui being loui
Ferland being as rugged as glass
The power play inconsistency (1st unit drop pass zone entries)
Gaudettes playoff performance
DROP PASSES ARE AN EFFECTIVE WAY TO GAIN ENTRY INTO THE ZONE WITH POSSESSION WHEN THE OTHER TEAM IS TRAPPING AT THE BLUE LINE AS ALL TEAMS DO ON THE PK ALSO WE HAD THE 4TH RANKED PP
RESPECT THE DROP PASS
