  1. Actually can see the opposite happening with Colorado winning again because the East are going to beat each other up that the team that makes it the finals is going to be so tired/hurt etc that Colorado will have there way with them.
  2. 100 percent, all professional sports are managed now for profit. It’s all about money and has turned professional sports into professional entertainment. The NHL will make more money each year having an American team win the cup rather than a Canadian team. Canadian fans will always love hockey and keep coming back. Where as if X American team doesn’t do well those fans will disappear.
  3. If they think he won’t be the same goalie in the future of course they will, unless it’s clear cut that he can’t play again then obviously every team will find out when they get a physical done.
  4. Unless the team knows more about his injury than we do and they are going to try and trade him before it’s well known. When he got hurt in Dec we all thought/some knew that it was a bad injury and was going to be way longer than 6 weeks. He might not be the same goalie?
  5. If Horvat is tired of this $hit show of a team and wants out it won’t matter what the owner wants.
  6. Personally I don’t think there is any chance it can happen. This team is rotten and needs a big overhaul, Horvat wants out and who knows if Petty wants out. If I were in their position I wouldn’t be resigning until I actually saw some good progress not just talk of it. If management messes up this Horvat situation because they want young NHL players in return (which I think is unlikely in season) and they don’t trade him and he walks this team won’t recover for a long time.
  7. Possibly yes, the owner is definitely the biggest issue with this franchise. However this new management group is still doing a below average job and they are all talk. At the very least try adding something more than a 6th/7th dman to improve the defence on this team.
  8. Who cares if you did or did not watch the entire interview, JR etc have been nothing but talk and until they actually do something of importance to try and fix this team (beyond a coaching change) they are doing a horrible job.
  9. What a disgrace of an interview and the dumby Garrett trying to brown nose Allvin. This team is in very deep trouble.
  10. Wow that is a bad team but yeah let’s not rebuild, what a joke.
  11. If this is true it is not going to go well for this franchise. Aqualini needs to go #selltheteam
  12. It’s not BB’s fault he’s got four number 6 dman to fill out his defence after Hughes and OEL. This is 100% on management for not making the necessary player moves.
  13. The defence is absolutely garbage, if Hughes or OEL get hurt for any length of time this year the Canucks will be in the Bedard sweepstakes. They literally have 4 number 6 Dman playing and we wonder why they can’t hold a lead. This management is all talk and no action. They need another top 4 dman now, not next year or a couple of years down the road but now. Trade a 1st or a couple of firsts who f’ing cares. Stop being a middle of the road team either compete properly or blow it up.
  14. What was the Canucks record under Boudreau, now factor in both Miller and Horvat are in contract years thus likely having career years, the overall depth of the forward group is a lot better than last year, young players like Pettersson/Hughes are likely still getting better. The defence is the only thing holding this team back right now from being a top team. Both Edmonton and Calgary should be good but Campbell won’t be the same goalie behind that defence and Calgary is getting older and there top players have already gotten their big contracts thus likely not having career years. Vegas could be good but they won’t contend with their current goalie and cap situation. LA will be good this year and I could easily see them winning the division. Things could easily go very well for the Canucks this year and if there are no long term plans to keep Miller waiting until the trade deadline will be a BIG mistake.
  15. Baring any major injuries the Canucks should easily (relatively speaking) make the playoffs. They are very deep at forward, a great goalie and average defence. Factoring that in if the plan is to trade Miller you can’t keep him until trade deadline if the Canucks are battling near the top of the division or firmly in the playoffs. They will be asking for trouble if they go this route.
  16. If Miller is signed the Canucks will have 3-4 years tops to win a Cup. Then will be paying a declining 2nd line player 8-9 million a year. It is not a risk this team should take with so many young players on the team. If Miller was a couple of years younger then by all means sign him to an 8 year deal at 9 million. If Miller wants more then 5 x 9 they need to trade him.
  17. The refs tried their best yet again to help nudge Dallas to a win. Radulov on Demko early in the game was clearly interference, elbow to Millers face in plain sight of the refs, the penalty on Schenn was a joke as the Dallas player skated into Schenn then got out battled. Numerous other plays including kicking Canucks out of the face off circle rather easily. Yeah the Canucks won but this game management to help Gary’s American teams succeed is getting very frustrating to watch. Further more to this, for those that watched the remainder of the Sens Panthers game, please tell me how that hook on a breakaway in OT wasn’t a penalty shot. Just another example of game management trying to help Florida.
  18. Complete waste of a trade,, having Motte as rental for the Canucks is far more useful than a 4th rd pick
  19. Regardless of calls or non calls everybody under the sun knew that Tampas only chance tonight was to come out strong in the first period. Yet once again the Canucks don’t even come close to being ready. There are two reasons for this one being coaching and the other leadership. Since the coaches have already been changed it clearly shows the leadership on this team is just not good enough period. Plain and simple Horvat is not cutting it right now. I get that not all leaders are the strong vocal types, however if Horvat is invisible many a nights he isn’t a very effective captain.
  20. You’re a joke, trying to incite hate towards those that have nothing to do with what’s happening in the world.
  21. To Van: Chychrun To Ari: Hoglander, Poolman, Rathbone, DiPietro and 1st Rd Pk Salary doesn’t quite work out but I would think this is close.
  22. Unless something unforeseen happens in the next two weeks Miller is staying with the Canucks this year and he will either get traded or sign an extension in July.
  23. Unless they can get a 2nd round pick for Motte it would be throwing away a good player. How often do 3rd round and later picks turn into NHL regulars? Motte is worth a minimum of 2 Million and I would be fine up to 2.5 Million. Motte does have the ability to play a third line wing so 2.5 million would still be good value. Lammikko has turned into a solid 4th line player who is good on face offs. He should get 1.25-1.5 million on a two year deal. Highmore is the weaker of the three, but also hasn’t played as much due to the injury. Somewhere around the 900K to 1 million for him.
  24. There is a reason why no Canadian team has won a cup in 30 years. Once the Canucks went up 2-0 the NHL (Bettman etc) changed how the games were called to better suit Boston who was the bigger team. There’s a reason why refs have been caught talking about calling penalties against one team or another, it’s game management in order to improve business $$$$.
