Feels like the draft is moving along faster than normal

This feels more like draft day deals, if theres a player we really want. I’m a bigger fan of more picks instead of just moving up.

While i’m happy for ct to get paid i’m a little sad to see him go. But i know that eventually we would/will have to move on from players like him and edler for long term success. Giving out too much term especially on aging players is a recipe for short term gain and long term pain. In an ideal world some of our prospects would have shown more at this point. All i hope now is that benning doesnt decide to throw big term and dollars to any ufas, barrie and ap in particular. Teams are desperate to drop money lets wait and try and pick up someone younger when teams start to get desperate

As I said, it's just a mere speculation because Tanev at 4.5 was definitely a reasonable contract and yet, JB decided not to tender an offer. And it looks like we won't re-sign Toffoli either.
Two possibilities:
1) There is an internal cap or
2) We are clearing cap space for big name UFA?
Of course there is a third possibility that Canucks were so hooked on OEL that they didn't bother to care for Tanev's contract -- which I find hard to believe.
I would guess it has less to do with the $4.5 and more to do with the 4 years. Big name ufas are not the answer to our problems either

My answer depends on what markys ask is for his contract. I’m fine with rolling the dice on demkos continued growth before committing too much Term and dollar to jacob.

To be fair our top line had more chances 5v5 with last change. But our pp dried up too in those games. Small sample sizes arent great

And you have pondered, if we traded away Markstrom, we are actually in a worse situation than Toronto/Montreal? At least they backups, we have none lol. Not to mention our starter hasn't even been tested yet for a full season. Unless you are saying we are throwing this season away when we are obviously chasing for a playoff spot?
TO’s last year 1st got traded for muzzin. So it would be 3 years of no firsts.
