  5. I think you guys are blinded by cap hit and term, and not looking at the players involved and what they bring to both rosters long term. Doughty makes us an instant contender for the 3 years, 5 if he doesn’t drop off. Turcotte is the ideal scoring line Center, with Petey and bo. LA gets to clear a bunch of cap down the line, that they don’t need to use. Well acquiring a legitimate 1st line Center, who is strong on the puck, vocal and can act as a transitional piece, guiding their youth to contender ship. As well as pick, or a slick offensive defender which they lack. If I asked a buncha kings fans if they liked this trade, they would just complain about a buncha extracurriculars as you guys are. Wouldn’t actually look at the hockey sense it made. This trade benefits both squads going in different directions, and that’s the hallmark of a good hockey trade. Go Canucks Go
  6. His body of work speaks for itself, why would you not want him ? At 5.5
  7. We want/need a bonafide 1 RD, this is how to acquire with reasonable cap hit. Then next years or Rathbone, they are weak on D futures.
  8. Is it tho? In a few years when Hughes and Woo are the first pair, OEL and Doughty would be playing around 20-22 a game with more favourable matchups.. I think you underestimate the value of two highly skilled veterans with substantial intelligence... They aren’t going to be competing for at least a couple of years, I think acquiring a valuable asset and shedding substantial cap is of more benefit, then emotional circumstance. Transitional Leader, Big personality, can truly play the heavy minutes well Byfield develops
  9. We have two glaring issues that need to be amended for this team to be a true contender (as lovely as the 5 game W streak is); 1st line rd, and the salary cap going forward, especially when it comes to resigning Horvat, Miller and the Boeser. This proposal, may garner substantial booos, but it solidifies our defensive group for the next 3 seasons, until Woo is ready to step into a top 4 roll, and alleviates the cap pressure going forward. To Vancouver Drew Doughty 50% retained at 5.5 a year Alex Turcotte To LA JT Miller 2nd round draft pick 2022 Why Vancouver does this: We get our stud Number 1 RD at 5.5 for the next 5 seasons, Doughty is only 32, and that contract may not look great in the last 2 years, but it’s something that we can deal with. The swap of Doughty for Miller, gives this team a new identity, puts any underlying s**t in the room to bed (next losing streak) And changes the night in, night out complexion of this team in what I feel is a positive way. Alex Turcotte replenishes our long term Center depth and is cost controlled for the next 3 seasons Why LA does this: This Starts the firesale, and the changing of the guard. This shows they have completely committed to a roster overhaul. Kopitar and Quick will be traded near the deadline for foundational pieces, they shed 50% of Doughty's cap, and with all the young kids they’ll have coming up thru the ranks over the next 2-5 years, they can catch the retention. They also acquire an incredibly valuable piece in their transitional leader, that they will be able to pay long term and throw the C on. I think this deal, makes so much sense for both clubs, but potentially the value isn’t quite right.. I would be interested in swapping Rathbone for the second, or potentially adding more if that’s what it took? Regardless, do your thing cdc and fire away! Go canucks go!
  10. Also forgot to add, would totally sign Ryan suter as well as Edler if he would sign a cheap, team friendly deal

  12. So the main issue seems to be with the second package, and the value of Bertuzzi. What do y'all think he's worth? Pods Floor is significantly lower then the player Tyler currently is, Woo from the majority of sources seems to have regressed this year, Sutter is a cap dump, and the first is going to be at least 24, but probably higher.. Would attaching conditions to the first make it more palatable ?
  13. Why not? Agitating, speedy physical, scoring winger, will drop the gloves and he's got flow. On pace for 60 points, whats not to like?
  14. lololol OP is updated, package is for Tyler Bertuzzi...
  15. Long lurker, first time poster. Feel like this core just needs a bit of tweaking to go on a deeeeeep run! And as much as many here wish we could get something for nothing, sadly that's not the case.. So I propose three deal, that well sacrificing some of our prospect depth give us long term pieces to age with our core well shedding considerable salary going forward. Not a numbers wizard, but think the cap should be pretty good, with maybe a little bit of jimmying on any of the deals.. Also fully believe tree is signing at the end of February and can step in without hesitation. To Nashville Demko Tanev Lind Erikkson 2nd To Vancouver Filip Forsberg Dan Hamhuis Next To Detroit Podkolzin Woo Suter 1st next year, because we are making the playoffs! To Vancouver Tyler Bertuzzi And finally To Ottawa Stetcher 4th To Vancouver Christian Jaros Your 2019-2020 Stanley Cup Champion Canucks Forsberg Pettersson Boeser Pearson Horvat Miller Bertuzzi Gaudente Virtanen Roussel Beagle Motte Ferland/MacEwan/Schaller/Graovac/Baerschi/Goldobin/Leivo Edler Myers Hughes Hammer Benn Tree/Jaros Fantanberg/Juolevi/Rafferty Markstrom Mikey Sooooo Flame me alive
