  1. Remembering things that are true are easier then remembering a lie, yet you remember and insist on the kitty litter story being true despite it being false. I think you can remember a lie pretty easily. Come on man, you just don’t want to use pronouns. That’s it plain and simple and you’re using any argument you can to try to justify it, throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks. You’d actually argue with your friend that using the pronouns they prefer is too much to ask of you? Unbelievable.
  2. Hey if you’re arguing all professional leagues should be broken down into different sizes to try to prevent injuries of a bigger player hitting a smaller one that’s definitely something I could get behind in the name of fairness. There’s already different weight classes in martial arts sports, why not expand it to all of them? What I can’t do is support definitions of gender excluding people just because they’re smaller or bigger then someone else. Any person has the ability to become a muscular behemoth. Just because one person has worked harder then another to achieve said body that doesn’t mean the competitor who is smaller can’t also achieve similar results if they worked just as hard. If someone is more competitive then you regardless of gender or whether they’ve transitioned then you can work harder to beat them. Of course I don’t mean cheating like steroids, but am talking about natural muscle gains, which can be had by anyone man or woman if they put in the effort. An argument that it’s unfair someone has more muscle then you is laughable in any competitive sport if they were both born the same gender, they’d just be told to work harder, so why is it any different for transgendered people? There’s a simple solution to anyone complaining a transgendered person has an unfair advantage over them in sports: work harder to beat them. Besides there’s already a lot of unfair advantages in every professional sports leagues: bigger and smaller men, bigger and smaller women. Should smaller guys be upset there’s bigger guys they’re competing against? Should smaller women be upset there’s bigger girls they’re competing against?
  3. Someone thinks schools put kitty litter in their bathroom for a student who supposedly identifies as a cat. The rest of us are just bewildered and befuddled how someone could actually believe that, especially after the originator to this story admitted it’s a lie, every news organization has debunked it and the president of all of Ontario schools says it’s not true.
  4. Believe the president of the Ontario school boards association who oversees all schools in Ontario or believe an email. That’s not really a hard choice. Making someone remember to use they is a big deal? To remember to use a pronoun for a specific person? That’s too hard to do? Holy cow man. How did you ever memorize anything in school or pass any test? That takes far more brain power to do, but this is too difficult? It’s actually not, but it’s something you don’t want to do, so you’re making excuses in order to justify not doing so. You never answered my question: If your transitioned friend asked you to use they, would you? Yes or no? And would you argue with them like you are with me over it?
  5. I seriously am gobsmacked that I have to argue against someone who believes that schools put kitty litter in their bathrooms in order to accommodate a student or students who supposedly identify as a cat despite giving multiple links to it being refuted over and over again. I weep for the intelligence of the human race.
  6. Its a fake right wing hoax used to further their argument that the leftist pc anti-woke mob has gone too far. Look above and on the previous page for links to said debunking of the story. Sadly there’s still people who believe the sky is red if they’re told so regardless of how many times or how much evidence is given to prove that it’s blue.
  7. The argument is why are you so upset over this particular English language rule being broken and not all the other countless ones? It’s really not a big deal to say they, seriously you’re arguing this hard over saying the word they. Maybe you should stop and think about that for a moment. Also consider if your trans friend asked you to use they, would you? Or would you argue their wishes are pointless because it goes against English language rules? Yeah, it’s a hoax, in Ontario too. Want to know why the school board put out a notice? Read this from the Toronto Star, I even made it so you can read without paying. They put out that notice because there was too many gullible folks like yourself believing that bs because it fits their anti-woke leftist hysteria narrative. https://archive.vn/apXHj/again?url=https://www.thestar.com/amp/politics/provincial/2022/10/30/litter-boxes-for-students-in-bathrooms-schools-scramble-to-get-ahead-of-furry-internet-hoax.html “It has come to our attention that misinformation is currently circulating in our school communities and online regarding the presence of litter boxes in our schools,” said the joint statement released in October. “Please know that the Renfrew County District School Board and the Renfrew Catholic District School Board do not have, and have never had, litter boxes in any of our elementary or secondary sites. In an age where information — and misinformation — can travel fast, both boards said they needed to address the controversy stemming from the letter in the paper, as it continued to circulate widely online and in the community. While to some the claim seemed ridiculous, families were talking about it and schools in both boards received calls from people expressing concern. “When that letter was published, it really sparked a bit of a firestorm here,” said Mark Searson, director of education for the Renfrew Catholic board. “The amount of calls we received, both ourselves and the public board, was really astronomical, and all the chatter online,” he added. “We’re a small community. I was getting my hair cut and two different people came up to me and asked me if it’s true that there are litter boxes in our schools, and then at the gas station a few times. “Finally, we just decided we needed to put a statement out to clarify that record because it was unbelievable how many people believed the misinformation.” The boards also felt strongly “that it’s really an anti-trans movement that was going to ask for us to protect our students, and we really felt that the boards needed to come out and make a statement because it’s a slippery slope when you go down that line of thinking,” Searson said. “We really wanted to kind of nip it in the bud as quickly as we could.” This part pertains to you in particular @Master Mind, refusing to change your mind despite facts and evidence of debunking because it doesn’t fit with your opinion: “It’s not happening,” said Cathy Abraham, president of the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association. “Everybody says they heard it from their friend who lives next door to somebody who lives next door to somebody who works at the school. But when you say ‘which school?’ there is never an answer. “And when I bring that to some of the folks who do call, I say have you got a specific example? And the phones just go silent.” You mean you don’t like people demanding someone use the “proper” English language that has a million exceptions and to not use pronouns to make someone feel respected? That kind of behaviour demanding others to bend reality to your liking? Or only the kind of demands you don’t agree with?
  8. Then why does it say our sellout streak ended in 2014? https://www.nhl.com/news/canucks-fail-to-sell-out-for-1st-time-since-02-snapping-streak-of-474-games/c-735172 And why is last year’s attendance capacity rate 17th worst in the NHL? Or 11th worst in 2018-2019? Or 9th worst in 2017-2018? Or 13th worst in 2016-2017? I could go on, but you get the idea. We haven’t sold out in a long time.
  9. Using words that don’t match up to English language rules such as: I before e, except after cOr when sounded as 'a' as in 'neighbor' and 'weigh'Unless the 'c' is part of a 'sh' sound as in 'glacier'Or it appears in comparatives and superlatives like 'fancier'And also except when the vowels are sounded as 'e' as in 'seize' Or 'i' as in 'height' Or also in '-ing' inflections ending in '-e' as in 'cueing'Or in compound words as in 'albeit' Or occasionally in technical words with strong etymological links to their parent languages as in 'cuneiform'Or in other numerous and random exceptions such as 'science', 'forfeit', and 'weird.' Yeah, the language is bizarre already. What’s one more thing to add to it? Oh god not this debunked argument again. Ok, if that actually happened then yes, I’d be right alongside you in going WTF? However it isn’t true. It took me two seconds to google this, maybe it would be better to check the veracity of something before posting it? I’d be careful about falling for right wing propaganda, which happens a lot it seems. Joe Rogan and the Nebraska lawmaker have already admitted it was a lie. I can get you more links if you don’t believe any of these outlets. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna51439 https://www.cbc.ca/listen/live-radio/1-14-day-6/clip/15944017-how-hoax-cat-litter-schools-became-republican-talking https://apnews.com/article/nebraska-lincoln-316c87249779706d6d78b58641c4a75e https://www.reuters.com/article/factcheck-furries-rogan-litterbox-idUSL1N31J1KT https://amp.theguardian.com/culture/2022/nov/04/joe-rogan-school-litter-boxes-kids-furries-gender https://nypost.com/2022/11/03/joe-rogan-finally-admits-that-school-furry-litter-box-hoax-was-a-lie/amp/
  10. 2 dead journalists in 48 hours when other than the players and coaches the media is the most protected in big worldwide sports tournaments? I guess it could be just a coincidence, but considering no journalists covering a World Cup or major worldwide competition have died recently? Less reason to believe so. I do truly hope my possible suspicions end up wrong and that it’s just two sad unrelated and unfortunate tragedies. I’ll be waiting for the independent autopsy results either way.
  11. Starting to look like targeted murder of certain journalists. Two deaths can’t be a coincidence. I don’t recall any journalist dying in previous World Cups.
  12. Also gotta say the guy who is constantly attacking the left is making a rather odd decision considering most of his target market is the environmentalists and liberals who want to buy an EV car that also helps the planet. He could choose not to comment and to actually spend his time trying to run Twitter better behind the scenes instead of tweeting publicly, but instead wants to alienate his main market for selling his cars to from his other business, which is now tanking because of it. It’s cutting his nose off to spite his face.
  13. Yeah Tesla definitely started the EV revolution, but everyone else has caught up and in some cases surpassed him in the growing market. Not many people want to pay $50-$100k plus for a car when there’s Chevy’s and Ford’s and a whole bunch of other options that continues expanding every year for less then $30k.
  14. Exactly my point, thank you for agreeing it’s not a big deal to say the pronouns someone asks you to use. I’m going to have to say that’s a straw man. Someone identified as a cat, which means all pronouns are too prevalent and over the top in society. Of course someone identifying as a cat is stupid, that doesn’t mean all pronouns are the same as that. I’m glad you’re supportive of this person who transitioned, it’s a good thing, but it’s important to recognize not all transgendered people are the same. Some prefer different pronouns, others want to be called him/her, it’s up to that individual what they feel most comfortable with. If your friend doesn’t want you using different pronouns then that’s their choice and it should be respected. Using they when that’s not their wish would be equally disrespectful as someone who wanted you to use they and you use him/her instead. Not every person has the same view. I could say that my transgendered friends prefer the pronoun they and I respect their wishes. Neither is the right way or wrong way, it’s whatever works best for the individual person who transitioned. That’s all that matters and all that’s being asked. I’m pretty sure most transgendered people aren’t going to call you hateful if you mess up by accident their wanted pronouns to be used. I knew one of my friends as a girl for a very long time before they transitioned, it took me a bit of time to adjust, but whenever I messed up they just pointed it out to me, I apologized, corrected myself and eventually I became consistent with using it. Doing it on purpose however is another story and is worthy of calling someone hateful. It’s about small gestures to be a better person and make someone feel they are worthy of respect and belonging. It’s not an enormous ask.
  15. The free market has decided on the Twitter train wreck and they don’t like what they see from Elon.
  16. I’m sure that would go over well with you telling her that. Or would you just not say that to her face aka proving my point that you wouldn’t say anything and would follow her wishes to be polite, which is exactly the same as someone asking you to say they or any other pronoun. It’s really not a hard thing to do using they instead of him/her in a conversation. Yet to some it feels like that’s far too big an ask. The amount of pushback on little things like this that require almost zero effort from a person truly astounds me.
  17. That definitely is the biggest reason for sure. If Demko stopped only 1 more goal against per game, we win at least another 4 or 5 games and are top 3 in the pacific division. Demko stopped being Demko and hasn’t re-found himself yet. Maybe his injury will be a blessing in disguise giving him some needed time away to rest, relax and heal. If he gets back to 2021-2022 Demko form this team will go on a Bruce like run again, but that’s a big if at this point.
  18. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression Canucks haven’t consistently sold out games since 2014 and only do so now for the usual big ones like when Toronto or Montreal comes to town bringing their fanbase.
  19. Actually the special place in hell is for people like you who refuse to be brought into the modern world. I hope you aren’t this callous and bigoted if a family member of yours transitions. At one point slavery was the societal norm in our country too. Guess we should go back to Muskets, Steam Power and only men who own property being able to vote so that nothing ever gets changed right? Back to when it was the good ol days. Luckily for civilization your type is becoming extinct with each generation that passes and the vast majority of the country will be trying to look forward instead of constantly wanting to go back.
  20. Got a question for those who think asking people to use pronouns are leftist woke mob indoctrination: If a woman asks you to call her Mrs. or Ms. or Miss. do you argue with her? Do you say I’m calling you whatever I want to to their face? Or do you politely apologize/correct the pronoun you just used in order to make her feel more comfortable?
  21. Super independent thinker right here am I right Musk supporters? Or what exactly do you consider to be free speech?
  22. Musk should be supportive of being jeered and boo’ed because it’s people exercising their right to freedom of speech is it not? It only matters if it’s speech they support to these people. They use that rallying cry to get the gullible to side with them. I’ve got no problems if a person supports all free speech, both what they support and what they don’t, but usually in my experience that’s rarely the case. When someone does that it just means they have an agenda and not a belief system, which shows themselves to be hypocrites.
  23. Do small sized men not exist to some people for some reason? How many smaller hockey guys have gotten crushed and been injured by a bigger player? There’s big men, big women, small men and small women in the world is there not? This is just another attack on and has nothing to do with the transgender community veiled in a sense of concern for their well-being who are trying to play a sport that Canadians revere in order for them to have a sense of belonging given all the hate they face from transphobes and bigots just for being who they are. Or maybe I guess people think small men should be banned from playing sports or should play in separate leagues if they’re concerned about an injury to someone? At least that would make their opinion consistent. Injury is a potential danger that comes with playing sports, heck there’ve been bigger players who get injured by smaller players too. It all depends on certain angles or situations, if you get the right ingredients any single person regardless of how strong or muscular they are can get injured. Even though smaller players are definitely more at risk the danger is there for every person. For those who are genuine and wanting to support trans leagues/orgs there’s something you don’t realize. Even by having separate organizations you’re making transgender people continue to feel isolated and like they don’t belong because then there would be men, women and transgender leagues as if transgendered people aren’t men or women, they’re categorized as something else. The intention is good, but in practice it just perpetuates their feeling of not belonging that’s pervasive among the community which helps lead to their extremely high suicide rate. This story in particular is about size plain and simple. One person that’s bigger hitting one person that’s smaller resulting in an injury. It happens everywhere in men’s and women’s sports leagues all around the world. It’s a potential hazard that comes with the territory of playing. I’d highly recommend before opining to actually talk to or ask someone who is transgendered their thoughts on an issue like this, because I have quite a few m to f and f to m friends who have told me how they feel that’s led me to form my own opinions and it’s their feelings that matter most on the issues that effect them. Regardless I do hope they make a full recovery soon and get back to playing the game they love just as they are.
  24. Immigration is the only reason Canada has now arrived on the World Cup stage. In fact if we didn’t welcome people born elsewhere to our country most national teams in any sport except hockey would be terrible. It makes us a stronger nation both on and off the playing surface.
