  1. No. But Port Alberni does have a bit of history with tsunamis.
  2. No, I'm going to stay on my high horse and lecture everyone about their behaviour.
  3. As someone who took first year Geography, I can say that it doesn't work that way. Also, you are over 800 km from the epicenter, so you probably just have gas.
  4. Looks like the epicenter was right under land. Likelihood of a significant tsunami is probably minimal.
  5. Oh, so it's Haida Gwaii when everything's peachy, but "Queen Charlottes" when something bad happens? Nice.
  6. Quit yer whining. Six weeks ago it was cool and raining and everyone was wondering where summer was.

  8. RARGH! BOARD CHANGES!

  9. Booooooring. Lamest earthquake ever.
  10. And $100 million is a hell of a lot of money for this stuff. But then again, BC Place is costing $500 million, right? How do I get to be a part of this new BC Liberal economy? Because I'm surely a couple dozen notches below it at the moment.
  11. The price for these gates/turnstiles seems incredibly high.
  12. This guy must have been freaked out. I can imagine him thinking "Wow, look at that. Glad I'm safe way up here... uh... oh crap." (Some shaky camera, but the content is worth it.)
  13. This is being aired in Japan to help kids understand what's going on. Mod Edit: NOW that there has been some context given as to what this video actually is....... Youtube: (Subbed) Nuclear Boy うんち・おならで例える原発解説
  14. Timeline video of earthquake occurrences and their magnitude from Mar. 9th to the 14th. The big one hits around 1:17. Check out all the aftershocks.
  15. It will never be as bad as Chernobyl. If a complete meltdown occurs, it will be very localized and emit radioactivity levels that are lower than what the Soviets had. This event is still controllable to an extent too, whereas the one at Chernobyl was just fiery explosive chaos. http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2011/03/17/2011031701085.html
  16. The SDF are bringing in supplies by helicopter and boat. It's rough though because the weather is bad and there are so many people that have been displaced.
