  1. When Perkins wasn't taking a holding call, he was getting beat clean.
  2. Last time Sask was able to get through the O line and injure VA. This time the Lions don't have their Left tackle. VA could be in a world of hurt.
  3. I liked what I saw from VA. He seems to look a lot more comfortable with a whole training camp under his belt. It looks like the Lions may have tailored the playbook a bit to VA's strengths like using him on the roll out more. I also saw on a few occasions where he was able to go through his reads due to good protection. So far so good. Hopefully he'll build on this and maybe bring some Casey Printers type excitement.
  4. I've sat at the front row in the upper deck around the corner endzones several years back. The view is awesome. You get such a great view of the plays developing and you aren't really far away since you are at the front in the upper deck. Truly great seats.
  5. According to Farhan Lalji, they sold 10,000 tickets on the first day and that was just to insiders. They still have a lot of time to sell. I remember back in the early 2000s when the Lions were always in the Western Final, the snowball effect of people buying tickets to get to over 50,000 was so exciting.
  6. Despite the outcome not favouring the good guys, it was a fantastic in game experience. Lower bowl was almost full. Fans were really loud. TONS of kids for a 7:30pm start was impressive. The little girl sitting in front of us had her balloons out and decked out in orange. That's potentially a fan for life. The street party was fun as usual. We got to take a picture with Lui and Sean Millington outside of our section. Lions games are just a ton of fun to attend these days and you can do it for as cheap as 25 bucks per ticket.
  7. Yep. The defense played good enough to win. They had some big stops early on, but they were on the field way too much. Too many 2 and outs for the Lions. Hopefully O'Connor can rest up, heal that groin during the bye week and get some good reps in practice to get game ready for the Montreal game. I don't wanna pile on O'Connor so early. It was his first ever professional start. He had nerves a normal young QB would have. We have just been spoiled by Rourke.
  8. Hope it's nothing too bad for Rourke. O'Connor looked pretty poised in relief. He can probably hold the fort if Rourke is out next week.
  9. Yep. If they can sell a lot this week plus a Lions win on the road in Sask. That will setup a big rubber match against the Riders at home. A ton of Sask fans will show up too as usual. Should be fun!
  10. Lets do this! Get a good buzz at the street party too if they will have it. 5.25 tall cans. Can't beat then. Last game, I had a few before the game and didn't need to buy any inside BC Place
  11. I hope there is going to be a big crowd on August 26th against the Riders. I already got my ticket last week. Rourke is a treat to watch. His poise and intelligence reminds me of Dave Dickenson except he can throw deep and can run as well. Just a total package.
  12. NFL has the best talent in the world. Has amazing production values. If the CFL had the same production values, most casual fans couldn't tell the difference. The CFL has a branding issue more than anything else. Amar Doman is doing a great job in trying to get young people back in the stands. Hasn't shown up in the numbers yet, but I already notice it in the overall game day experience. The block party that offers 5 dollar tall cans is a great way to get a bit of a buzz before the game. Inside the stadium, I see tons of young kids and young people taking their dates to the game. Hope they can build on this. Can't wait for the Riders to come in town in a couple weeks.
  13. I was at the game last night. Crowd wasn't big, but it was so much fun. Tickets aren't that expensive. You can spend a few hours at the block party drinking 5 dollar tall can beers. Can't really beat that for a night of entertainment. I really hope they can get a big crowd in for the Saskatchewan game.
  14. What has impressed me the most with Rourke is that he will go through his reads in the pocket and step up to avoid getting sacked. A lot of young QBs just bail out of there when there's a bit of pressure. The Lions offensive line has a lot to do with that too. They have been giving Rourke tons of time to go through his reads. He's such a pleasure to watch. Can't wait to go to the game against the Elks. I haven't gone to any games since Lulay was the starter. I went to the Winnipeg game this season. Even though we lost and the crowd wasn't huge, there's this buzz and positive vibe at the stadium that I haven't experienced since the days of Casey Printers and Dave Dickenson.
  15. I have a feeling Rourke might bring fan excitement to the level Casey Printers did in 2004, but his playing style is closer to Dave Dickenson. Rourke is very poised in the pocket. Instead of scrambling all the time like young QB tend to do, he actually goes through his reads and checkdowns like a veteran. His actually throwing ability looks great too. Has some real zip on intermediate and deep balls. Dave Dickenson was super accurate, but didn't have the deep ball arm.
  16. You are probably right. I might be over estimating his base and maybe the US just isn't ready for progressive politics yet.
  17. I watched the whole debate. Bernie grilled Biden a bit on past history, but didn't land the knockout punch. Biden did enough, to probably end the race by Tuesday. The question is can Biden get Bernie's base to vote for him in the general. What I find interesting in all of this is that if Bernie is the nominee, he'll get his base plus the "vote blue no matter what" crowd. If Biden is the nominee, he'll get the vote blue guys, but can get Bernie's base
  18. So next week's debate is interesting. Tulsi has 1 delegate which means she technically should be allowed to be there, but she won't. Also instead of the candidates standing on a podium, they will be sitting down. The biggest change is that questions won't come from moderators. Instead they will come from the audience. I'm not sure what I think of this.
  19. Mack needs to stay. The guy just hustles and is physical. Perfect bottom 6 guy. When everyone is healthy, Loui needs to sit.
  20. Yeah I've been thinking about this too. We keep hearing Bernie's base is the young people, but when it came election time, they all disappeared. I have no idea what happened.
  21. The scary thing is that I think the DNC establishment knows Biden has no chance against Trump, but they rather have Trump for another 4 years because it'll be the same ol same ol when it comes to the Neoliberalism. They also get to spend the next 4 years to trash Trump. A lot of the DNC establishment is more worried about their own bottom line than actually putting up a viable candidate. A Bernie nominee could potentially mean wholesale changes for everyone.
