  1. I have a board with a nail through it, a rusty nail!
  2. I've got 4 month's supply of food, a gravity water filter, a manual laundry, a portable pump shower, a portable solar array, etc etc. If disaster strikes I'll hopefully be able to spend most of my time busily "recieving donations" from crooked local businesses instead of flailing around awaiting outside help.
  3. 3 or 4 moar points on the Richter scale plz.
  4. You can't be off for 18 months at GSP's age as he was and not lose a lot athletically for good, if it had happened as a young fighter it'd be one thing but he's at the age when most fighters start to slide anyway. I also think that he may be in the early stages of showing signs of brain injury, he's not slurring his speach or any of that yet but if I were him I'd be inclined to retire too.
  5. The bikers were obviously at fault here but even on a lb-for-lb level I think SUV drivers are more likely to be a danger to others than stuntin' bikers.
  6. I think Silva easily beats him in a rematch, though I'm hoping it doesn't happen as the division could use some new blood. I can't see Weidman being champion for all that long though.
  7. Silva put on his clown shoes and got clowned!
  8. Kids, this is what happens when you piss off the regional elite, they're out to get him and will use any means at their disposal to do it. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up dead.
  9. He said "Completely ridiculous", he should have added "just as the last couple of false claims recently made against me were". Think about it, if the tape were real then one of his wealthy political enemies would have bought it by now for the win, of course oddly enough it seems that the owner of the tape has disappeared...
  10. I think its convenient that these allegations were made against a guy that the local left elite has been targeting for a while now and has had false allegations made against him before. Watch as the supposed tape mysteriously ends up being bought by an unnamed buyer and disappears.
  11. With all of his political enemies, some of them very wealthy, you'd figure that they'd have raised the money by now. Somethings not right here.
  12. I don't know how it was back then but Silva walks around at more than 220 lbs today, almost everyone gains weight over time and I have the feeling that if it were feasible for him to get back down to 170, he would have done it already. As far as GSP or anyone else bulking up, that has its problems too as while you usually increase your strength enough to be competitive, few fighters are able to take their striking power with them as they move up in weight class, even as the competition becomes bigger and more durable.
  13. A fight at 170 with Silva looking like a concentration camp inmate is the only way GSP could win, otherwise its going be another case of a good big man beating a good little man.
  14. As does everyone else in the division, including guys who have a larger frame than he does.
  15. Silva is too big and too good for GSP, that much should be obvious. I'm not even sure that GSP is big enough for 170, not if he wants to safely dominate in exciting fashion anyway. He also may be declining, or still rusty from the layoff, he didn't look like himself in there.
  16. Nooooooooooooo! What's worse is that my GF's Brazilian, I'm never going to hear the end of it!
  17. I'm surprised it took that long, although that was the most focussed seeming Rampage I've seen in years. Anyway I think Jones is better skill wise than Anderson Silva or GSP was at this early point in their careers, and is least as athletically gifted. I just wonder how long he can stay at 205 with that big frame of his?
  18. That's the hard part though, in a bad quake you're likely going to need more than a few days worth of suppies. Also you have to make sure that they won't be buried under a building, destroyed in a fire or flooded before you can make use of them.
  19. I would worry about living through the quake and its aftermath before collecting insurance.
  20. I'll be getting it just to tide me over until they build a Fallout with that engine, more than anything. I think it'll be solid overall and great in places, but not mind blowing, just like Oblivion was.
  21. It's a good idea to also have some means of defending yourself handy as the folks who didn't prepare, or were not able to recover their supplies, are going to take them away from those who have if they can. And it goes without saying that there are a LOT more folks who've not prepared or are underprepared in the mix than those who really prepared.
  22. I'm counting on a local quake happening at a time that will exponentially raise the suck level, like 2:45 AM in the dead of winter. I'm also counting on a horribly inadequate government response, so that it might be many days if not weeks before significant help arrives. Also, I could easily envision the RCMP and local law enforcement being very heavy handed and indiscriminate when they do get back into the picture, seeing how they act even under normal circumstances. Even in the event that we only get a less severe than expected quake that doesn't involve whole areas full of collapsed buildings, raging fires and impassible roads, it'll still suck plenty because you know how things will get just by having the power grid and water supply not operational for more than a day or two.
  23. In Oblivion I went with a quick stealthy thief who usually fought from a distance with a bow if possible, with Skyrim I'm going to go with a magic user who can fight if needed. My reasoning is that magic sounds like it'll be a lot more useful than in Oblivion, while archery sounds like its been limited somewhat. Also I just want to try something different this time.
  24. A dynamic economy is actually fairly easy to implement, I just don't expect there to be a lot of depth to it beyond directly game relevant aspects like food products and basic manufactered goods. Also, I'd expect scripted limits on it, so that for example, an economy damaging event somewhere doesn't lead to a an economic meltdown and cause all the townspeople to become bandits, or they all try to flee to an area with better propects etc.
