  1. This thread's still going on strong. Yes, the Canucks need Burrows even if you don't. He's a good grinder, checker, penalty-killer, net-crasher, and scorer.
  2. Same here in the south side of Vancouver (15 blocks before Knight bridge).
  3. My friend used to go to SFU and he'd either stuck there or has to rush home whenever it snows on the mountain, even when it rained everywhere else. He sure has many good stories to tell over the years.
  4. I love it when good threads survive and still active through the years, such as this one. It's snowing but not hard. Snow filled my suite entranceway & staircase. I'm staying home to post on here & watch football & hockey. Tomorrow will be messy when rain washes the snow away. I hate walking on slush but I have to... at least I have a good pair of snow boots now. Have a nice & safe day!
  5. He's one of few players that I've noticed that doesn't falter after signing a big contract or receiving a big salary increase.
  6. I couldn't imagine how the Canucks would do if they don't have Burrows this season. He's not just another Jarkko Ruutu or Matt Cooke. He's better than both of them in so many ways.
  7. Hope Translink won't go ahead and tearing up Broadway and build the UBC line. Wouldn't it be easier to buid a ground-level light rail? As for the schedules, it's about time that they go multi-lingual.
  8. If you want campus shutdowns, you should go to SFU.
  9. Waited with a female friend for her #26 bus at Kerr and 49th from 11:15pm to after midnight on Monday night. No buses running either direction. We got off #49 and would be just in time for the #26, but we didn't see another #49 going same fdirection till 12:15 am when she finally got on it as an alternative way to get home. She had to walk halfway home coz #49 doesn't reach her home like #26 would. At around midnight, a dude told us that he walked from 29th Ave STN because #26 buses stopped running since 9pm and he had to walk his way home. When my friend and I called translink during our waitin g time to see when the bus would come, it told us the normal time but mentioned little or nothing about expecting delays. I can understand how buses can't get up hills and icy roads, but how about giving us updates on bus routes when we call Translink instead of just telling us to expect delays? I didn't have to wait coz I lived 2 blocks away from that bus stop, but my female friend needed to get home and I wasn't to make her walk in the dark... Thankfully she didn't get mugged or harassed during her walk after getting off #49 bus halfway through her journey home, but what if shething happened to her just coz she couldn't take the normal bus that would've dropped her off right in front of her house?
  10. There were snow on the ground.. turned to ice... sidewalk = ice rink... can't really walk on it...
  11. The SFU buses should automatically become gondolas once it reaches the foot of that hill.
  12. No idea what's going on outside, but heard we have a windstrorm.
  13. Snow days? People should get days off coz it's impossible to take transit during snowy days.
  14. About time to stop snowing... last night #26 bus to Joyce Station stopped running at 9pm, and I only knew this when a man walked all the way from 29th Ave station to Kerr and 49th while my friend and I were waiting for a bus there. Some streets still look like ice rinks. Skytrain still goes haywire every other day, if not everyday.
  15. Do we really need him? Let's just say that you'll miss him wn he's gone.
  16. Today was nuts... snow was almost knee deep in some areas as some streets were unshovelled. Took me about 10 mins to walk two blocks to take the bus. Waited like 40 mins for the right bus to come on Robson and Richards. Time for the snow to melt and for things to finally go back to normal after two weeks of coldness and craziness.
  17. Walking 2 blocks to my friend's house after getting off bus was like hiking on quick sand. The street leading to my friend's house wasn't shovelled, neither was the street his house's at. Oh, not to mention the snow was shovelled like a wall along 49th Avenue, so there's wall, sidewalk, wall, then houses. It's like walking in a tunnel or maze. And now STILL falling XD
  18. 10" of snow? *Loading gun* That... *raise gun* won't... *aims at you* happen...
  19. You can't get warmth by doing nothing, unless you're by a heater. You get heat by generating energy, meaning moving your body.
  20. Or simply melting the existing 10+ cm of snow. Wish it's 10 degree C and sunny. I miss that kind of weather.
  21. Does this prove the inconsistency of weather forecasting? I hope it ends up being 3-4 cm total.
