You are obviously just picking stuff out without reading the whole thing, like I have said many times, that whole section does not apply to Tryamkin because he is not going through waivers and he is not on loan to any club. When his contract ends or is terminated he would then be a group 2 free agent, according to group 2 free agent rules if he is not signed by signed by Dec 1st he can not play in that season, please find me something to show me he will not be a group 2 free agent

Did you read the title of that section: Waivers and loans of players to minor league clubs, Tryamkin will not be going through waivers and he has not been loaned to any club. That is why I said this whole article has nothing to do with Tryamkins situation

From what I understand the reserve list is for keeping his negotiation rights, I want to be wrong, I want to see him play for the Canucks this year and help us get into the playoffs, I want someone to show me something that says he can play this year and I'm not talking about a fan site or an article about the Leafs signing players that quotes part of the CBA that has nothing to do with Tryamkins situation

Show me in the CBA where it says it doesn't matter. Section 8.6 is titled Reserve List - Exclusive Rights, show me where it says it doesn't matter

And that means he is a group 2 free agent, the only other group were we own his rights is group 1, seeing as he has already played out his ELC he no longer qualifies as a group 1. I have read all those as well, and the way I interpret all those reports is that he wants to sign with the Canucks but I haven't seen any that suggests that it will be this year, I was hoping it was this year until I did some more research, and from what I read in the CBA he can not play this year, I get it, he is on our reserve list, and I understand that he is not holding out but it does not change the fact that he is a Group 2 Free Agent and according to the CBA a Group 2 Free Agent can not play in the current season if he is not signed by Dec.1st of that current year, if you can find a quote from Benning, his agent Todd Diamond or anything from the NHL or anything that suggests he is not a Group 2 Free Agent and falls under a different category I will back down

What you say is true, he will become a UFA, Unrestricted Free Agent in 2-3 years, not sure on the date, but by my understanding Nikita Tryamkin currently is a group 2 free agent, an RFA and according to the article 11.4 of the CBA it states, (this is directly from the current CBA) "Signing Deadline for Group 2 Free Agent. An SPC (Standard Player Contract) for a Group 2 Free Agent will be rejected and will be null and void ab initio (i.e., the Player's Free Agency and contractual status shall revert to the status he held prior to signing his SPC), if it is not signed and filed with Central Registry by 5:00 p.m. New York time on December 1 in the then current NHL Season." This section shall not apply to a Player on the Reserve List or Restricted Free Agent List of an NHL Club with whom the Player is signing an NHL SPC or is party to an existing SPC with such NHL Club" The problem is Tyamkin is not going through waivers and he is not on loan to a minor league club or any club for that matter so this part of the CBA does not affect him. I am not a lawyer by any means, maybe one of our resident lawyers might be able to interpret this better than me but that is how I read the CBA, believe me I would love to have Nikita Tryamkin back for the playoff push but this is how I read the CBA

Yes he did, that guy was a clown, who writes an article slamming the home town team, saying Bure is going to hold out when they are right in the middle of the Stanley Cup finals, that's the biggest one that stood out for me, there were so many more, after a while if I saw his name I would just flip the page because I knew the story would be garbage or a fluff piece about the Red Wings

Doing a little more research trying to find a clear answer on this I came across this on NHL.com "Any restricted free agent who does not sign by Dec. 1 cannot play for the remainder of the NHL season." here is the link https://www.nhl.com/news/top-unsigned-restricted-free-agents-in-nhl/c-308175092 Again I hope he can play but after reading the Nylander example and now this I'm starting to wonder if he can. Is he considered an RFA in the same category as Nylander and the ones mentioned in the NHL.com article or does he fall under a different RFA category.
