  1. That could change when the new American tv deal happens in a couple of years, 2021/22 season, and according to Forbes they are expecting a big increase which could have a big impact on the cap https://www.forbes.com/sites/bradadgate/2019/01/15/hockeys-big-pay-day-is-coming/#71d361234e44
  2. I believe expansion money does not count as revenue so it will not factor in the cap going up.
  3. We do have a winning record against the Eastern conference, if the majority of our games were against the eastern conference we could very well be in the playoffs in the east
  4. I'm putting my dollar down on him coming back, it might be too late for this year depending on how late his season goes, but as Hairy Kneel has pointed out numerous times their no.1 goalie is out so it could be sooner rather than later.
  5. And it is a pot city, every North American city has a drug problem, but I'll go with this recent quote from his agent “We feel Nikita can play for any club in the NHL,” Tryamkin’s agent Todd Diamond said via text message. “Vancouver has his exclusive NHL rights, he is familiar with the city, ownership, management and staff, and we will engage in talks after Nikita’s KHL season. “The team and coaching staff is much different from when Nikita was last in Vancouver and we view that very positively.”
  6. I never saw that article where he was quoted as saying he and his wife hated living here, I pretty sure there was some mention of being home sick, I could be wrong, but I don't recall anything about him saying they hated it.
  7. Just curious, why do you think that is the most likely scenario?
  8. It will be a battle right to the wire, we are 5 points out of 1st in the conference and 3 points from 8th, it is tight. And I love hopping on my bike and riding for hours
  9. As I've said a couple times, I probably should have worded it better, but it does not change the fact that in the 50 years of NHL playoffs that I have been watching the team that won the cup has had amazing goaltending, having great goaltending does not guarantee that you will win it but chances are you will not get there without it, would Claude Lemieux even get a chance to get all of those OT winners if it wasn't for Roys goaltending? It is a full team effort with great goaltending being a big part of it.
  10. I don't think there is any team out there that would take our 1A goalie for their 1A goalie + an elite prospect or a 1st rounder unless of course Mike Milbury got himself another gm gig, just don't see it
  11. It's more than that though, like I said our bigger guys need to step it up, Pettersson should not be out hitting Horvat
  12. I think it's more on the leadership group to ramp our compete level, Beagle and Pearson have both won cups, Edler has been to the finals, they know what it takes, Horvat was our only bright spot the last time we were in the playoffs, he needs to be playing better right now, as far as systems that could be better, the way the ducks collapsed in front of the net was playoff style hockey and something maybe the coaching staff should look at
  13. Hopefully this last stretch of games will make them realize they need to ramp it up, our leadership group needs to step it up and lead the way
  14. ya, like I said to cuporbust I probably didn't word that right, having said that, you do need your goalie to steal you a game or two in the playoffs, I can't think of the last team to win the cup that didn't have incredible goaltending
  15. Very true, just trying to point out that Marky is just one part of the team, probably could have worded it better, what we need is a better effort from our bigger players if we want to do any damage in the post season.
  16. Good thing Markstrom is part of the team, any team that goes deep into the playoffs do so because of the goalie standing on his head
  17. Yes, those teams finished first and did not make it to the second round, besides there is still a quarter of a season left, the Oilers are only 1 point up on us with 23 games remaining, not worried
  18. Really? by your post you seemed to think that the canucks finishing first would give them two rounds, I just said that didn't work for the two teams I mentioned who finished first in there division last year, thats the connection
  19. I'm sure that's what Tampa and Calgary thought last year
  20. If it comes from the coach why does Pettersson have more hits than Horvat, I'm pretty sure he's not telling him to not throw his 220 pound body at any one, he needs to step up and be a leader
  21. It's very frustrating watching him peel away from hits, he needs to set the tone out there, be a leader
  22. Really surprised, I thought at least 10 games, this is something you have to send a message with, I like Kassian but that is too short of a suspension in my opinion.
