  1. I had a dream last night my hockey team got invited to play at Rogers Arena and I see Jim Benning in an office upstairs screaming into a phone and he's face palming So I decide to go upstairs and I'm like what's wrong Jim and Linden is there and he goes "Jims about to acquire Brent Seabrook for Luca Sbisa and it's a done deal but he's struggling really hard to not offer a 2nd round pick for no reason because he loves giving them away" So I spent the rest of my Dream trying really hard to convince Jim Benning not to throw in a 2nd round pick into an already done deal
  2. Lol. CDC never ceases to surprise me
  3. I'm not as bummed out about the Detroit series (we were never going to win 4 against them) as I am about the Minnesota series. With a decent goalie we get past Minny and play a Cinderella Anaheim in the Conference Finals. We beat them and we're in the finals and who knows with that New Jersey team IMO. That was a weak NHL season in terms of playoff competition and that teams best chance at going all the way, yet Clouts lets in 3 weak goals in the 3rd period and were out after being up two goals going into the 3rd period of game 7.
  4. As much as I hated Cloutier and thought that team could've done so many more things with a half decent goalie... He will always hold a special place in my heart because he was a big part of one of the most exciting eras of Canuck hockey ever
  5. Something I found tonight while searching for Cloutier highlights lol. Our goalie coach and head coach going at it!! PS did you guys know how difficult it is to find a Cloutier highlight reel on YouTube?!
  6. "Warning: Choking Hazard"

  10. Thought i'd add it in there just incase.
  11. Thought this could be a fun little exercise to get us going through the offseason. When Willie D came in, we all saw the infamous Medicine Hat connections that were instantly injected into the lineup. Players like Linden Vey who played under Willie, Emerson Etem, Derek Dorsett, Curtis Valk. Management has shown they are willing to bring in players the Coach thinks would be a good fit based on their past coaching/being around those players. A lot of people are saying they like Travis Green, he's a really likeable guy, they enjoyed playing/being under him. It's not inconceivable to think there might be some connections that pay off in the near future. What are some of those potential players on the Travis Green side of things? Let's speculate. 15 years as a NHL Player New York Islanders (1992-1998) Players Still Around: Zdeno Chara Anaheim Mighty Ducks (1997-1999, 2006-2007) Players Still Around: Ryan Getzlaf Corey Perry Chris Kunitz Phoenix Coyotes (1999-2001) Players Still Around: Shane Doan Toronto Maple Leafs (2001 - 2003, 2006-2007) Players Still Around: Matt Stajan Alexander Steen Boston Bruins (2003 - 2006) Players still around: Patrice Bergeron Mark Stuart Brad Boyes Joe Thornton Zug EV (2007-2008) Players still around: Raphael Diaz (lol) (Funny note, Travis was also a Medicine Hat Tiger in 1989-1990) Assistant Coaching/GM Record Portland Winterhawks (2008 - 2013) Notable Players: Travis Ehrdhart, Nino Neiderreiter, Ryan Johansen, Joe Morrow, Riley Boychuk, Sven Baertschi Head Coaching Record Portland Winterhawks (2012-2013) Notable Players: Brendan Leipsic, Nic Petan, Ty Rattie, Troy Rutkowski, Tyler Wotherspoon, Seth Jones, Derrick Pouliot, Oliver Bjorkstrand Utica Comets (2013-2017) Notable Players No Longer With Canucks: Frankie Corrado, Nicklas Jensen, Yannick Weber, Jordan Schroeder, Hunter Shinkaruk, Ronalds Kenins, Tom Sestito Other Notable Connections With Coaches/Management/Media Etc Kevin Cheveldayoff (GM - Winnipeg Jets) - Played together in the AHL for Capital District Islanders Marc Bergevin (GM - Montreal Canadiens) - Played together in the AHL for the Capital District Islanders Brad Treliving (GM - Calgary Flames) - Played together in the WHL for the Spokane Chiefs Ron Hextall (GM - Philadelphia Flyers) - Played together in the NHL for the New York Islanders Randy Carlyle (Head Coach of the Anaheim Ducks) - Was the Head Coach of Travis Green on the Anaheim Ducks Mike Sullivan (Head Coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins) - Was the Head Coach of Travis Green on the Boston Bruins Mike Johnston (Head Coach and GM of the Portland Winterhawks) - Was Head Coach when Green was Assistant on the Portland Winterhawks Dave Hunter (London Knights) - Played together in the WHL for the Spokane Chiefs Lorne Henning (Former Canucks Assistant GM) - Was Travis' Assistant then Head Coach on the New York Islanders Ray Ferraro (Radio Personality) - Played with Travis Green on the New York Islanders Jamie McLellan (TV and Radio Personality) - Played with Travis Green on the New York Islanders Francois Allaire (Goalie Coach - Colorado Avalanche) - Was the Goalie Coach for the Phoenix Coyotes while Travis was there Rick Bowness (Former Canucks Assistant Coach) - Was the Assistant Coach for the Phoenix Coyotes while Travis played there Newell Brown (Former Canucks Assistant Coach) - Was the Assistant Coach of Travis Green on Anaheim Ducks Michael Nylander (Father of Alex and William Nylander) - Played with Travis Green on the Boston Bruins Don Hay (Former Coach of Vancouver Giants) - Was Assistant Coach to Travis Green on Anaheim Mighty Ducks If anyone wants to add anything, let me know!
