  1. Another showing of the Canucks scouting ineptitude. And to think they almost took this guy in the first round!
  2. I think his experience from games played in the NHL have helped his game a lot. He is an NHL caliber player, he just needs to find his consistency.
  3. Market value is determined by a number of factors other than just years played. You do realize other teams were offering up more money to get him as well right? He is making less then market value for a top two D man.
  4. The funny thing is Garrison took less money to come to Vancouver, Apparently! I think he got better term here and that is how the Canucks have him. With that being said, he has not played very poorly, just not up to expectations. Give him some more time to adjust, I'm very confident he will be better down the road!
  5. Wow, I'm really not surprised by peoples reactions to Garrison even though he is a +6. The numbers havent been there, but he isnt on the power play either. The Canucks power play was struggling early on and so the Canucks were mixing things up, even having Daniel on the point. I really like what he has done defensively and I figure he will round into form in the offensive end of the rink.
  6. Higgens and Raymond should be back. I dont see how the Canucks wouldn't want to have them.
  7. He was a # 1 on Florida but a # 5 on Vancouver?
  8. He's a plus two this early into the season while the team has looked sluggish to say the least. I like what I see from him at this point and am sure he will be fine. People tend to forget that he is coming off a season long groin injury and still has only played 6 games on a new team. Give him some time, he will be really good for the Canucks!
  9. Change in the scouting dept is much needed...... Gillis is doing a great job but is also smart enough to know that his scouting department is letting him down.
  10. Jensen is only 19. Mcnally was producing but got the boot from his school. Mallet is in his first season so cut him some slack. Anderssonis also in his first season in North America and has played pretty well. The rest have cause for concern and cant really disagree.
  11. I would hire a new scouting department....... Enough with the lame drafting and poor trades. They were doing so well before and now seem to have reverted back to lame decision making we're used to seeing!
  12. Agreed! I'm sure he's a guy who wont be on the ice defending the lead in the last 3 minutes of a game and thats fine. Not every player brings that skill set anyway.
  13. I don't completely agree with this. If you're talking about last season, I think maybe his conditioning was an issue, but not so much this season. Kassian will never be great in defensive end of the rink, but he won't be a liability either. This season he has looked much better overall. I think he still does need work along the wall in the offensive zone, but that will come with more and more experience.

  15. You can see the highlights of the game on the Bulls home page. Not sure how to post or I would!
  16. That's why I am not really all that concerned with the Canucks taking him. You never know, he may reach elite level skills, but at the very least I think the Canucks have a future second line center here!
  17. He has much more skill then that. He has a scorers touch with his shot and is a very under rated passer. The thing that may hold him back is his skating.
  18. No chance. He will be very lucky if he becomes an NHL regular. After watching both games over the weekend, he barely looked liked he belonged in the AHL. His speed is average but his hands are decent. Going into his third season, he should be showing signs that he's ready to make the jump, however, it seems he's just spinning his wheels and not monving forward in his development. He could of had an assist on Rodins goal that was called back though. I hope he turns it around.
  19. He never mentioned anything about being soft, just how he doesn't like how his season is going so far..... He's almost a point a game guy however and his penalty killing is top notch. I really like this guy and can see his bottom being a third line centre but I think his ceiling is much much higher.
  20. He also had that nice tip on net. No goal, but it shows he has good hand eye!
  21. In all honesty I really only wanted Shultz just to show the rest of the hockey world that Vancouver is a destination players really want to come too, and that a nice good young free prospect for the future. That being said, its not like the Canucks really are that desperate for a player like shultz anyway. I see him being a good player, but not as good as a player like EDLER anyway. In the way of defence, I would suggest the Canucks go after a bigger and more rugged shut down type. Canucks have plenty quality puck moving D. And lets not forget some of the prospects on D the canucks have in K-Conn, Mcnally, Corrado, ect.... I feel Shultz has some room to grow still and probably won't make any real impact for some time. The Oilers are going to be good but the Canucks are good now and for the foreseeable future, so lets all relax and enjoy our team. Go Canucks!
  22. Three game goal scoring streak. Rodin got better as the season went along which is a good sign.
  23. It's his first year pro in North America.
