  1. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Los Angeles Kings

Yep, that woulda made it a lot more scorched-earth. Dont get me wrong, I think we've made a lot of good moves and the rebuild is close to being done, but I wish we would have cut deeper and earlier.

by NOT replacing the outgoing players with the likes of Vrbata, Eriksson, Gagner, etc...
  3. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Los Angeles Kings

I place its beginning at June 30, 2013. Its just too bad they wouldn't go scorched earth and we could be through it already. Still, I believe the very bottom is behind us and we're on the upswing (despite what this seasons point totals say).

If by eat you mean blow and by home you mean his mom’s basement, yup.
  5. Marchand injures Duclair

I don’t know, I like Marchand as little as anyone, but this doesn’t look malicious to me. Weird maybe, I don’t know why he needed to jump up to get out of his way. That said, the knee injury wasn’t Marchand, it was Duclair falling on it in an awkward way...which I guess is because Marchand jumped at him in an awkward way ... but still, doesn’t seem malicious in this case at least to me.
  6. Jake Virtanen | #18 | RW

I like to compare him to Bertuzzi exactly because of the consistency issue. People often forget how frustrating it was in Bertuzzi's first couple of years in Van where he would absolutely dominate a game (like Virtanen last night) and then just snooze through the next three games. There was a point in time where it seemed teams just tried to 'not poke the bear'...he'd be half asleep then he'd get pissed and get a penalty halfway through the 2nd and score twice in the third. I can't wait to see Virtanen's version of Bertuzzi by the time he was about 25-26...hopefully Jake hits that earlier and holds on to that consistency for more years!
  7. [Rumours] Vanek

I haven't read through this whole thing to know what's already been discussed - but Nash got a buttload and Plekanek got a 2nd. Doesnt that mean that Vanek has got to land at least a 2nd plus?
  8. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

Fun fact - all time Points-Per-Game in the NHL is topped by, of course, one Wayne Gretzky. However, not too far down the list at #8 and #9 are two Swedish players - the same two players who have until recently topped out the SHL in ppg for a U20 player. If Elias can sneak in between those two in the SHL, could you imagine if he also managed to do so in his NHL career? Or even came somewhat close?! Dare to dream...
  9. This League Makes Me Sick

I'll believe it's NOT rigged when we get Dahlin
  10. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

I didn't read the article, but I guess it was written from the future?! I'm as hyped up about EP as the next guy but perhaps we should rein in our expectations a touch? I mean what if he's not even ppg next year? Do we ship him out?
  11. [PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs. Carolina Hurricanes

Now there's a point for the eternal optimists among us...only about a year ago the ongoing discussion was that we needed an entire first line...Horvat was never gonna be a first liner, Boeser was a fine college player but nobody even knew if it could translate etc... im not planning parade routes just yet, but we've continued to move through this rebuild slowly and surely
  12. Brendan Gaunce | #50 | C/LW

I think he's looked just as awesome on many nights could feel the production trying to force it's way out, now it's finally happened for once!
  13. Brock Boeser | #6 | RW

Yeah, with Garrett the commentator was giving the award to Gretzky wheel by wheel as he scored his 4 goals edit: after a quick search (the internet remembers things more clearly than my mind) I guess it was Lanny McDonald speaking directly to Cheech on the ice
  14. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

Oh please...Henrik currently sits 30th all time in assists. I think Pettersson is going to be a superstar for us, but there have been nights in not-too-distant history when Henriks passing felt magical like Gretzkys passing. He's literally one of the all time greats of history.
