  1. Why get into a bidding war for Beagle? If the guy is going to get that "I just want a cup over pay me deal" walk away, I'd much rather wait around and do the bargain bin deals a la Vanek.
  2. Big Tanev fan here, but I take Nylander, I can't believe people poopoo that deal. You're not putting Nylander on the ice to block shots and bull guys over, the guy is super skilled, and can play center or wing. As mentioned above by 'suitup' Nylander on a line with Horvat? yes please.
  3. In theory that could be where they get more value for him, I could totally see GMs paying more at the deadline then now for Tanev.
  4. Draft Lottery

Silver lining is the Canucks will most likely be drafting a Dman at that spot. I say they play it like Pettersson again, go full O-skill, draft Quinn Hughes, unless Boqvist drops down to them.
  5. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

You are correct, I was wrong, I heard what I wrote in an interview, but just looking, realized the cut off is September 15 for NHL draft eligible players. Still though, the hype is real.
  6. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

The guy is almost young enough to be in this year's draft and he's dominating the SHL, it's hard to not forecast a star NHLer. It is what it is, he's going to be hyped, ain't much you can do about that.
  7. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

    sorry double post
  8. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

Was he implying he would of selected him 1st overall?
  9. Weaponize the cap, they have tons of space, who knows they might be able to get some serious assets from a team that wants to off load salary to sign Tavares for example. I would be cautious to go after guys like Kane at 6x7million type deals, not sure that is the right route at this point.
  10. [Injuries] Canucks 2017/18

    Pulled his Luongo aka groin
  11. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this theory as it's common sense but I always felt puck possession plays a significant factor with injuries. I never checked the numbers but I would suspect teams with low possession numbers suffer far more injuries then teams with high possession numbers. Obviously you are forced to block more shots but also you're dealing with the opposing team's forecheck more as well, defending in general just seems like a higher risk.
  12. Chris Tanev out 2-3 weeks with groin strain

They would need to finish 33rd over all.
  13. [Signing] Canucks re-sign Erik Gudbranson

Yeah it's risky deal, he plays good he has you by the nads, even if say he has a average season you're kind of screwed, you'll need to overpay. Oh well it is what it is I guess not like they could ink him long term.... JB needs to take the Delorean out for a spin on that trade.
  14. As nice as Landeskog would be, they don't have the defensive depth to lose any of their top defenseman for a winger. Canucks with no Tanev replacement pretty much a lottery team, even with him in the line up they are in tough.
