  1. As a leader am I going to promote and advocate for people who argue over 15 minutes? No I'm going to pick the guy busting his butt and going above and beyond. Whether it's legal or not legal is irrelevant. If you want to scrape and battle against your employer for every last minute you will always lose to the dedicated guy sitting next to you. End of story.
  2. This is just so false. I entered the workforce out of school (after quitting school) at 37k a year and now make 80k base pay with a bonus and benefits on top of that after 4 years of hard work and many promotions. I don't have a degree and have technically only finished high school. I also have worked an average of 3 or 4 hours extra per day since I started my employment. You don't need a degree to be successful but if you're arguing over 15 mins before your shift you sure won't be.
  3. The problem that you're going to run into is that nobody cares that you aren't living within your means. If you can't afford to live in Vancouver you can move elsewhere. Employers right now are actually willing to look the other way when people don't have degrees rather than when they don't have experience for senior level positions (where the big bucks are). The fact is there are plenty of people willing to work for 40-50k and you aren't worth a dime more than them until you earn it.
  4. Nothing. Wouldn't hire him on my team!
  5. You heard it here first... Leasing a car represents success.
  6. I don't have a college degree and I'm making 70k plus benefits after two and a half years and many promotions with a large Canadian business. It's all about the work you put in. I'd love to have a degree as it's icing on the cake in the interview process. Unfortunately I was very lazy during my university years and didn't finish. With a degree and the proper work ethic and attitude the sky is the limit. Without a degree you can achieve the same end result you just have to work that much harder.
  7. Yes actually twice for me in the recent past it has happened. The CRA receives all of your tax documentation anyway.
