  1. i thought this article was mildly related to the topic. I don't know what a cost per square foot of the Canada line was to build, but if the numbers add up to anything like they do in Phoenix, I would have rather had another highway built :-0 Be sure to read the Rail Subsidy post, from the same blog.
  2. The Monopoly Card As in, they've got the monopoly on public mass transit :D
  3. Imagine the lumber you could produce from all those trees. Gads, that's be so awesome. I'd bulldoze that damn park in a heartbeat Just kidding. Kind of. Those gigantic Airbus monsters are insane. Do they even fly to Vancouver? According to Wiki there are 17 in service, has one ever landed at YVR?
  4. I though taxicab drivers would be getting cheesed off due to the loss of potential revenue for fares to the airport. I talked to one last time I was in Van City, and he said he didn't think it would be too bad, because their clientele is typically businessmen who don't care about cost, or people who need to get their fast (again, cost is no concern). Interesting to me, anyways. I don't quite know how this will help cabdrivers.
  5. That is the stupidest and most ignorant thing I have seen you post on these forums. Asians have better hygiene? WTF? Guess you'll be wanting to ban the stinky injuns too!
  6. Were you really born on the fourth of July?

  7. Glass is always half full :-0

  8. Tangentially related: We don't need government to build and maintain roads. We certainly don't need 'em to build and maintain mass transit.
  9. Spending 10 million dollars of taxpayer money of bike trails and overpasses is a travesty.
  10. Pure Gold.

Once I saw it, I thought: "Goddammit"

  13. I wouldn't agree that the people who fought and died in WW1 did so "to make the world a better place". Many fought and died because they were forced to by the State. Lets not lose sight of why WW1 occured. "Never Again", indeed. Lest We Forget.
  14. stop being so damned lame.
