  1. Rate The Last Movie You Saw - 2

Saw The Stanford Prison Experiment. I was already very familiar with the experiment and still found it disturbing. Definitely worth a watch.
  2. "Feel the Bern" [The Bernie Sanders thread]

    Bernie\s got Killer Mike's support. That's all I'd need if I was a US voter. http://pitchfork.com/news/62238-killer-mike-speaks-at-bernie-sanders-rally-in-atlanta/
  3. [Report] Travis Hamonic on the trading block

Assuming his personal matters require him to be closer to home in Manitoba...why Western Canada specifically and why is Vancouver on the list but not some Eastern teams? A flight from Ottawa is basically equal in length to that of one from Vancouver. One from Toronto is shorter. One from Minnesota is much shorter. Even one from Chicago is shorter.  As much as I would LOVE Hamonic to come to Vancouver, I won't be getting my hopes up. I don't see how we make it onto his list unless no other team can put together a deal for him.
  4. [PGT] Nucks 3, Habs 4

Vets look old. They can turn it on at times but their legs look heavy and they usually seem half a step behind. Kids look young. They show flashes of brilliance but mostly play cautious and safe. I'd like to see them just go for it more often but they look like they have no confidence or are afraid of getting benched. Virtanen in the AHL playoffs last year, while he didn't rack up the points, was flying around making plays and driving the net regularly. Baertschi looked like a completely different player. He still makes a beautiful pass occasionally, but last year in the A he was carrying the puck more, weaving across the ice, sniping, etc. McCann plays solid and tries hard but needs to get stronger. Don't think I saw Shink make a play tonight, looked like he just wanted to dump it and change. Just looked like he was trying to play it safe so he wouldn't blow his opportunity. Guys gotta have the confidence to make the plays they can make. They'll learn quickly which ones they can't get away with anymore.

I agree. I mean it was still somewhat entertaining because it's a Bond movie, but I definitely laughed way too hard at moments that were not intended to be funny. In my opinion, Skyfall should've been the end of Bond; there won't ever be a Bond movie that beats it.
  6. Music of 2015 thread

Never heard of these guys before (probably because this is their debut album), but gave them a listen during my periodic check in on Pitchfork. I really dig 'em, probably because it makes me nostalgic. I feel like they're a throwback to something from growing up but I can't pinpoint which bands. Anyway, here's Pitchfork's review with links to a couple of tracks. Band is called Beach Slang and the album is The Things We Do To Find People Who Feel Like Us http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/21053-the-things-we-do-to-find-people-who-feel-like-us/
  7. Canucks To Introduce Individual Goal Songs

    Loved DD's choice: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-FPimCmbX8
  8. GDT Canucks vs Oilers, Sunday October 18th 6pm

Baer Horvat Virt with another combined 10 points please. Vrbata bumps the slump and the PP gets going. Hutton first goal. First Home win of the season. First blow out win of the season. You heard it here first.
  9. The Canadian Election - Liberals Win Majority

I think as soon as you stop voting for the person that you'd actually like to see win, and vote out of fear, the system falls apart. Also, they may not win this time but if they are competitive people might take them more seriously next time.
  10. PGT: Canucks-3 Blues-4

Hutton's ability to create time and space for himself is incredible. All of his fakes are filthy and he pulls away from checkers with ease. Love watching him play.
  11. Canucks To Introduce Individual Goal Songs

Can't hear any of them on the tube. Anybody catch McCann's or Danny's?
  12. [GDT] Blues @ Canucks Oct. 16/2015 7:00PM SNV

How did Virtanen earn the nickname Big Country? Who called him that first?

  15. [PGT] 2-1 Shootout Win Vs. Ducks

So how bout that 4th line? Even if you ignore the goal, they've been playing solid hockey. Prust may be a tad slow, but he is a beast below the goal line in the offensive end. He also makes slick passes every game. Pretty sure he found McCann all alone in the slot tonight and it would've been a beauty if he sniped it home. Dorsett, as always gets in hard on that forecheck, bangs bodies, and just plain outworks anybody else on the ice. Cracknell is cool as a cucumber under pressure, especially in his own end, wins battles on the boards, and actually shoots the puck. Also, pretty sure he was the guy blocking shots in the last minute of games in preseason. This line will be beastly for us and they came through tonight. Thought they were going to get the winner late in regulation too.
