  1. It's Miller Time?

Miller will get the wins if he can stay healthy all season. I'm optimistic ! If it ends up the same as last year and we need to rely on our backup tendy for a stretch of games I'm not so sure we will get the same performance as lack gave us but let's cross that bridge if we have to! Way to early to say much but I do love the Canucks understated team this year. It's like their proven talent was tossed in the garbage by all the analyst. Don't count this team out this year. !
  2. Burrows? Do We Really Need Him?

Burrows Once a struggling rookie all heart no finish Now A Wiley Hardened Veteran with finish and .......still all heart. !!!!
  3. [Official] 2014-2015 Canucks Broadcast Media Thread

I was born profoundly deaf and now have two cochlear implants. In 2006, a kid in my class threw a snowball in my head causing the implants inside my head to be infected. I had to have a surgery in BC Children's Hospital. My parents didn't really know much about hockey, and didn't know about the Canucks until... now... When I stayed at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver, we got a visit from the Vancouver Canucks. You may know that the Canucks visit the Children's Hospital near Christmas every year. Trevor Linden, Matthias Ohlund, and Willie Mitchell came into the room with a big fat whale, Fin. I was really sick and tired after several surgeries on my head, taking off bandages, I didn't really care much about what was going on. They signed some stuff for me. My mother told me once that Trevor Linden had the "confused" look on his face, wondering why I wasn't excited or such. I didn't get to take ANY pictures. The Vancouver Canucks came to visit me and I seriously didn't know it was the amazing hockey franchise based in my hometown??? In the next few years in 2008, 2010, my cochlear implants have had problems and throughout my life, I've had 8-10 surgeries. It was painful, and horrible. I now know who the Vancouver Canucks are and whenever I'm feeling down because I'm deaf and gone through so much, I think about how the Vancouver Canucks devote their time, energies to making kids' lives brighten up in Children's Hospital. I wish that I can somehow meet the EPIC president of the Canucks again, Trevor Linden. He came to meet me and was confused why I wasn't happy. Mr. Linden, if you come meet me again it will BE THE BEST DAY of my life. You were a meter away from me. Come closer and I'll hug you and take a picture with you!!! <3 And that's why I'm a Canuck. Can we please see the Canucks reach out to Linden and make this happen. It would make my day!!! Not to mention this Kids life!
  4. Why Are You A Canuck?

Wow! to me this deserves some further support by the CDC. I hope that Linden one days sees your post and maybe you get that time to say Thank you and tell him why you love the Canucks. I appreciate you sharing your fight and your experience. I would ask the rest of CDC we need to help make this happen!
  5. Trade For What?

To me there is no doubt in my mind this team has been re-juvienated and is poised and ready to remind the Leaugue who is a top team in the NHL. 1. We have the Goaltending 2. We have the Offence 3. We have Defence Our team is well coached thanks to Willy D and very composed................ for the most part just getting on the same page to play the game they want to play. From time to time we see the team break down mentally but thats OK. I would rather have our team work through some obsticles and adversity to prove themselves during the season to get some street cred. It's important in life to have secondary motivation on top of your role to drive more out of your potential. The Canucks have some serious potential that is starting to show this season due to an opportunity in ice time and a new coach who is level headed and ready to reward smart hockey. The only question in my head is....... if we make a trade who do we add?. What do we need that does not mess with the chemistry and attitude of this team. It will be essential for Benning and Willy D to not mess with the make up of what is defining this team. What is a suitable addition that makes the Canucks a serious Playoff threat and the glory of a CUP!. Make no Mistake we have shot! I believe we are talking about One additon only. My thoughts are my own but there is not a lot of weakness on our team that can not be fixed with proper coaching and player development. So who is the player that we need and what is the poisition that this team is looking for?. I would love to hear some real thoughts from our Hardcore Fans . For me, I am leaning towards another D man who can play top four to mitigate an inevitable injury. I really feel that you can't have enought depth on D and you need to understand injuries are a part of a long term game plan. I would invest in a 6'4 sized D man who is injury free and consistant to handle any stress of the game. I'm thinking a n Andrew Ference type of player. What are your thoughts? What does this team need or lack to make the Stanley Cup a reality
  6. Time to trade Bieska is now and not later

Im not so sure that this is not a blatant need to have communication but ...... ... No Way IN Hell!! Future Possible "C" of the team is going no where. period
  7. Simple Question With a More Difficult Answer!

I agree I also think trying to put the Sedins on PK drained their creative energy to feed the puck to the Point the way they usually do. I just didn't see the creativity we would expect from those two and I don't think it's age.
  8. In the 2014 season. New Coach New direction. Who will be the most improved existing Canuck in 2014/2015 over production 2013, and why? I'll take the easy lame route because I know the analytical die hards on CDC know better. Sedins. They will both flourish again with less ice time more purposeful direction to be PP specialist and more even game time play for the other four lines. THAT alone makes them better for the whole season not to mention a new linemate possibility although Burrows is still in the mix for me. TBD
  9. Transition Year = Develop Players

Also not rioting when we do win! But meh, That's probably 60% less probable then winning the cup this year!
  10. Top D man ?

    Completely agree.

This guy is not golfing enjoying the summer. That's for sure

Well folks that's not a rebuild trade. It's a go get it trade. Love it!
  13. I'm not so far down the road with you on our humanity. Let's be honest this is a hockey forum designed to build readership and all a part of branding the Canucks. So I would ask maybe pull back some on the doomsday retort. If everyone agreed and were on the same page with no augments I would be bored. So I guess I'm saying I'm selfish I want to be not bored. There will always be freedom of speech. I enjoy the dumb stupid posts it's good humour for me and sadly this is a place for me to just shoot the .... With fellow Canuck fans. Just. My humble opinion of course
  14. Benning looking to add scoring forward/winger

Vrbata just doesnt seem like a fit for the next few years and hes not really a veteran presence that helps our rookies with his insight and vision he was never anything impactful and meaningful in his career. Again just my opinion
  15. So How Many Goals Are We Going to Score Next Season?

I see your thought but Its more about the Goals scored to goals against GAP We added improvement on goals against in dumping (-5) Garrison and adding Miller Goals for will improve with a healthy Burrows all seaon and Sedins not burned out half way through plus not having a coach who ruins all momentum by being retarded at the half way point of the year. Im not a statistical guy but we will score more goals this year and I believe we will give up less Thats a good recipe
