  1. Currently hitting refresh like a madman on the AHL scores page because I don't have an ahl TV subscription. Let's goooooo Canucks (of Abbotsford) Edit: nvm I see Calgary scored
  2. Yes I have seen a couple more views now from different angles and I agree, it touched the stick.
  3. First time looking at it. At that angle it doesn't look like it touched at all.
  4. What an absolute beauty. Nice remarks about Hoglander too
  5. I believe that if both teams had better goaltending this year (Demko being injured and Husso being pretty bad), both teams would have finished higher in the standings. I am not sure Hronek was that much of a needle mover. It is about as accurate a picture as it gets; its literally what happened this year.

  7. Finding it hard to pick which part of your message to reply to here. I'll try to stay focused on the difference between Detroit and Vancouver and where each team is at currently. Taking off the rose colored glasses, both teams appear to be in a very similar spot. 3 points apart in the standings, and have been doing some form of rebuilding for around the same amount of time. One team is selling for futures, one team is buying for next season. I'm not sure which is the right approach, we'll see in a couple years.
  8. I think moving Myers and Garland / Boeser, if possible, allows them to do some retooling of the defense without having to buy out OEL. I'll be shocked if OEL gets bought out.
  9. 3 points apart in the standings. What's so different? We have Petey and Hughes, they have Larkin and Seider. To me, there's a lot of similarities in the teams actual positions. The difference is in the perception of where the team is at, and the apparent plan forward by management and ownership. And only time will tell which plan / approach is the correct or successful one.
  10. That would require the NHL to admit that tanking exists
  11. Cheers, Cheech. Bieksa, or Hansen please. Or if not going ex player route, someone like Don Taylor.
  12. Good loss. Let's do it again 2 more times and then forget about this season foreversies.
  13. Hey at least we have all those top prospects in the pipeline and a ton of picks in the next couple of drafts.
  14. I think they are gonna play Hughes 40mins a night instead. Math be damned, playoffs!!
  15. Congrats to the organization for hosting a really wonderful night. It's disappointing one player sat out, but I'll choose to focus on the fact that no other players did, and the organization made it a priority to make this a great night for inclusion.
  16. Must have told them at the LA game where we had 3 shots. I imagine the locker room had a melt down.
  17. Not fair that Calgary not only gets all of the ex canuck players, they also get to own the refs...
  18. There's 8 games left who cares. In fact this is good, start sitting guys and letting them get fully healthy for next season. Keep at least some low % chance of moving into 1st pick. A high pick accelerates the retool. The timing of this deal will never make sense to me, but I am excited to see a full season of Hronek next year. Hopefully they can clear some cap and continue to build the blueline. Let's gooooo NYI win a few rounds !
  19. These wins down the stretch mean very little unless they carry it over to next season. Hard to be stoked about a brilliant late season run from 14th to 10th, once the games are over. But I could see how this year, despite being exactly like the last few years, has a bit more hope -- based on the apparent quality of pro scouting from the new group, and the emergence of Petey and Hughes as true elite players. A full season of Demko, and our offense group, and a couple key D additions, and this is probably a playoff team next year. But yeah it's a, I'll believe it when the games matter, thing for me at this point.
