  1. I'm not worried. This season is going to be a bid adjustment for Schroeder and there are going to be struggles. I realize last year in his short stint his ppg was pretty good, but a lot of those points came in two big games. I think Schroeder will hit 45 - 50 points this year, with most of them coming in the latter chunk of the season. EDIT: It's also possible part of the problem is who he is playing with. In the sense that Schroeder probably works best with a goalscorer with size and the Moose don't really have one of those.
  2. Unlike Hodgson, I don't think Schroeder has the pressure on him to get to the NHL asap. (justified or not when it comes to Hodgson) Schroeder can take 2 or 3 years in the AHL and very few people will bat an eye. He won't be needed till the 2012/2013 season.
  3. 2010 - Jarnkrok (and a Fin in Pulkkinen in the 4th Round) 2009 - Adam Almqvist (7th Round) 2008 - Gustav Nyquist (4th Round) damn them I also imagine Joakim Andersson from the 2007 draft (3rd Rounder) will develop into a good 3rd Liner in a couple years.
  4. It would come down to whether GSP can get inside Silva's reach, taking a page out of the Mike Tyson book of Boxing. GSP is still lightning quick and at 35 Silva looks to have slowed down. If GSP is too quick for Silva, he could win.
  5. Pretty funny that Goldberg said Silva was "still the best fighter on the planet" after the fight. Yes, Silva won, but he was dominated the whole fight and was able to capitalize on the fact Sonnen can't really KO people, usually winning his fights by decisions. It was a great move by Silva at the end, but if Sonnen was able to land punches like that, imagine what Belfort can do.
  6. I used to think GSP vs Silva was a stupid fight since GSP is just too small physically. Silva should really be a LHW (would still need to cut weight) and GSP wouldn't even need to cut weight to fight at Middleweight. However, watching Silva these last few fights, I think GSP would have a chance. That said, I think Belfort will KO Silva, as he has quicker hands and more power then Sonnen.
  7. haha, I got a negative for this? A touchy Silva fan perhaps? Belfort must be licking his chops.
  8. Now Silva will retire, because he got worked and looked like crap.
  9. A GSP vs Silva fight makes zero sense GSP walks around at 5'11 185bs Silva walks around at 6'2 225lbs He is physically a much bigger man and based on GSP's fighting style, he has zero chance of winning.
  10. Haha, that's quite alright. I've gotten over 60 +'s from that thread. =P

  11. Chris Drury, 1.5 Million for the points, 5.5 Million for the intangibles...
  12. Look at how well our AHL players have been able to get called up and seemingly fit in. Even guys like Desbiens and Bliznak did relatively well. That's a result of good coaching and preparation.
  13. That's true, but that also has its risks because you might need that cap space more next season. Right Chicago?
  14. Yes half of it is hard to reach bonuses, however, it all goes against the cap. The reason for that is because they are performance bonuses you won't know until after game 82 whether or not he has reached them. As such, say there is a bonus for 30 goals, he could enter game 82 with 5 goals and still technically have a chance at 30. (although wholly unrealistic) So all rookie bonuses go against the cap. Whereas with Mathieu Schneider, his were based off games played which you can judge part way through the season, so the cap application is different.
  15. It's possible he does have another year and that Byrnas does't care if he leaves. He's on their 4th Line this year, I doubt they have big plans for him next season.
  16. Go back to my post about the quote from Rodin, clearly he can leave this off-season if he wants to.
  17. I just took part in the Province chat thing and Tony Gallagher said something like "Rodin cannot wait to get out of their fast enough. He committed to Sweden before getting drafted and would have not done so if he knew he would have gone to Vancouver in 2nd Round. But he had to make decision before draft"
  18. Have the Canucks given you any indication on when you might play in North America with the Canucks or maybe with their farm team, the Manitoba Moose? Anton Rodin – I’m taking it one year at a time. I have one year at Brynäs so I’ll finish this season and then I’ll see what I do. Peter Andersson – Yeah, me too. http://canucks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=507452 Andersson signed a 1-year extension, Rodin has't yet, which leads me to believe that he does plan to come over. Andersson gets good minutes in the SEL, whereas Rodin is still in a limited role, which may push him to come over. We'll see once Byrnas's season is finished.
  19. I don't know if they're going to, but on the pre-game show Tony Gallagher said the Canucks have tried/want to sign him.
  20. Somebody to play with Grabner for the stretch run? One a sniper, the other a playmaker with great vision, both excellent skaters...could be magic.
  21. As somebody who has played a sport for a University, I can attest to how much it sucks when you're on the road and have assignments waiting for you back home.
  22. Yeah, I saw about 6 Gopher games this year and it reminded me of when Tommi Santala was the "trigger-man" on the Sedin line.
  23. After seeing what has happened to the Gophers program the last couple years with things like Okposo leaving, Jim O'Brien leaving and questions about Lucia's integrity and overall coaching ability. I wonder if things could have been different for White if he had gone to a different school or the even the WHL.
