    This isn't necessarily true at all. True, a full tear can not be torn further. But playing on an injury can put further strain on compensatory structures or create habitually bad movement patterns to compensate for a lack of structural stability. It's more a matter of risk/reward where playing on an injury out weights the possible repercussions.
