I can't believe people are giving up. We could win the next three and I wouldn't be surprised. However, I think we are a better team with Sven on the left wing of either Bonino or Horvat. He would give our team a huge lift.

I'm willing to trade some of our depth at other positions for a legit 2nd line center. Center and goal are the most important positions in hockey. The sedins have two good yrs left and then our window closes for a few yrs.

Why would we re-sign richardson? He's had a terrible yr. Old and injured. I'd rather we trade for or sign a legit second line center. Center is our weakest position. This move would make us a legit contender next yr. Sedin -Sedin -Kassian Baertschi -Legit 2nd Ctr -Vrbata Higgins -Bonino -Burrows Dorsett -Horvat -Hansen so getting back to sven. I hope he rips it up in the playoffs so we bring him up and play him.

I'm a big Kenins fan but he really struggled in the offensive zone despite good work by hansen and horvat. If he's not hitting he's a real liabliltiy but when he does he's a major asset. I hope he's able to get more hits tmrw. I'm not a fan of mattias but I don't think desjardins will bench him. If mattias is going to the net he's a major asset. Hope he does tmrw. I'm so disappointed that Sven isn't playing today. I'd rather have him in the lineup then higgins or mattias. He'd be a highly motivated player out to show his old team that they were wrong to trade him.

If we get behind and need goals I hope Willie moves Sven up to the Bonino line. Sven-Bonino-Vrbata is going to happen next year. I'd like to see them get started this year. Sven won't be intimidated by the flames since he knows the players.

This is the wrong question. The questions the team asked itself were: Will Cody be a 90+ point number one center in the Yzerman mold? Will Kass be a 70+ point power forward in the Lucic mold? If the answer to both quesions is 'yes', then which of the two is more important to our team going forward? They made the trade so you know what our managment thought.

I totally agree with you. I'm all about the playoffs and he's proven that he's a third line playoff performer. Even at that, I'd rather have someone bigger than Higg grinding on our third line. Someone like raffi torres would be great.

I'm re-posting this because I want people to understand that the nux are complicit in the lack of nux games on cbc. They simply make more money by selling their games to tsn, sportsnet. I hate cbc and their hnic broadcast too, but it's not all their fault.

Yes rotten ronnie will probably find another job regionally but hopefully not nationally. But this is the statement that I disagree with. I do not think he is good at what he does if he alienates an entire fanbase by attempting to read the mind of one of our top players. And yes, the firing of Auger soon afterwards is vindication for burrows.

Great post but I have to disagree with one aspect. bettman didn't call for a limit on leafs games to support smaller markets. lol He did it because the leafs wanted more games for their own regional broadcasts so that they could make more money!

I disagree. He was amateur and feeble in his attempt to discredit burrows. It was shameful and I bet he would handle it differently today.

I understand the anger and resentment over the lack of cbc games. But one aspect of this that you need to consider is that the canucks make more money because cbc takes less nux games. Not sure what the new cba rules are for revenue sharing, however, in the past, the hnic money was shared equally by ALL teams. Thus, the leafs make the same from hnic that florida does! But the nux keep almost all the revenue from regional tv broadcasts. So tsn, sportsnet money goes directly to the canucks. The nux have more games to sell to tsn, sportsnet so the nux make more money. I think the team is happy to have less games on cbc. I'm happy that I don't have to watch cherry and his puppet, mclean very much. The only thing I don't like about the lower number of games on cbc is that I'd like to watch the nux on saturday nights!
