Are you being purposely daft? The LTIR loophole and tax benefits of no income tax states provide the extra pieces on the board. Oilers and Leafs didn't have that. Tampa is another prime example. No state taxes and Kuch on LTIR for entire season.

My point is, playing with such an advantage is like having an extra queen (in this case, Mark Stone) added at the start of the game (series).

There's a multitude of reasons why a team is successful or not. I merely mentioned one advantage (and one loophole available to every team) that Vegas has. Sorry if it seems serious, I was just having conversation. This hockey is ridiculously boring to me. I have it on but am not paying attention.

All those ~5m cap hits on Vegas would be closer to 6m cap hits in Vancouver. Eichel, Stone and Pietrangelo would be about 5m more, total, in cap to equal what they make in Vegas.

That LTIR allowed them to add Stone at the end of the regular season. Not a small advantage. The state tax situation is also a huge difference maker in attracting players. The deck is stacked heavily against Canadian teams in particular.

You need cap circumvention and to be in a state with no taxes. We're seeing that trend very clearly now.

Reminds me of all those goalies that looked decent in Arizona because of the team defense in front of them. He's not making huge saves just making the ones he should. Also, Vegas is playing with a ~96,000,000 cap in a state with no income taxes. This league "parity" is a joke.
