  1. I can't see Schroeder making the big club this year. Maybe if he has an incredible camp and preseason. I don't think he has enough to earn a bottom 6 spot this year. He'll be better off playing top 6 minutes for the Moose.
  2. I see Schroeder as being a winger in the NHL. Not really big enough or physical enough for the defensive part of playing center.
  3. Couple more tweets from Farhan Devji today... farhandevji I can confirm with the utmost certainty that Jordan Schroeder has indeed decided to turn pro. farhandevji I'm hearing that Schroeder's agent is in the process of negotiating a contract with the #Canucks. I assume he'll go straight to the Moose. Not sure what there is to negotiate. Give him the rookie max for 3 years. Done deal.
  4. A couple of tweets I've seen posted late tonight... QuickFacts Expect Jordan Schroeder to be signing with Vancouver Canucks by this weekend only question will be whether sent to Moose or up with Canucks farhandevji Sent out some emails re: Schroeder's rumored decision to join the #Canucks. Won't hear anything at this hour, though. Hopefully tomorrow We can only cross our fingers.
  5. Minnesota vs. Wisconsin on the Big10 network tonight. 8pm start on the HD channel.
  6. I found Schroeder to easily be the best player on the ice for Minny. He's definitely the most skilled, heads up guy they have. Glad we have him in our system.
  7. I notice that on the Big10 network today that they're broadcasting the Minnesota vs. Colorado college games this weekend (one tonight and one tomorrow morning). Good chance to see Schroeder play.
  8. This is true. NCAA rules are designed to keep university football and basketball players in college rather than trying to make the jump to the pros. Its only when a kid knows he'll make the team does he bolt for the NFL or NBA. Neither of these leagues has a "minor league system" in any real sense like the NHL does. The NCAA should account for this and let these kids go play for AHL affiliates once their college seasons are over. The experience will only help the school programs in the long run as the majority of those players will probably return to school the next year anyway.
  9. Actually, another inference that can be made is that Schroeder, not being Canadian, might very well be eligible to play for the Moose before the age of 20. I don't know if the restriction is for players *playing* in the CHL or have their rights owned by a CHL team. I think we'll see Schroeder on the Moose before he is 20.
  10. What "fact" is this? When did Gillis say this? Show me a newspaper article, an interview clip or anything that proves he said this. What you've done is no better than the other guy. You can't claim something is a fact without backing it up with proof. What makes this a "fact"? I'm not saying that Gillis wouldn't say that, but I have my doubts he would say that publicly. If someone, anyone, can show me an article or sound bite where he says this, I'd be happy to apologize. But people need to stop putting words into people's mouths and claiming them as facts without proof that this person said this. And don't come out and say "he said it over the summer or in training camp". Its not hard to dig up the articles to back it up with a bit of effort. Let me give you an example of what this type of "fact" reporting can end up... Its a fact that Mike Gillis has signed Ryan Kesler to a 15 year, $35M contract. With $30M being paid in the first 10 years. Works out to about a $2.3M cap hit. I've now made a claim that this is a fact, but in truth, it is not as I have no corroborating evidence as to its veracity. This is a lie and by saying this, I would be a liar. This is no different than what you and the other poster have done. You've claimed something as a fact with no corroboration. Therefore it is a lie until proven otherwise.
  11. No. You went out and made a wild a$$ claim that Gillis asked Schroeder to quit college and play for Everett, when in reality, you were projecting your own beliefs and making it sound like Gillis was backing you up with stuff he *never* said. I simply called you out for lying. You lied, therefore you are a liar and shall be treated as such. You can certainly have an opinion on college hockey development, but that's not the argument here. You made the claim that Gillis said something that he *never* said and were unable to back that up with facts. That sir, is lying. I had no problem with your opinion, but I do have a problem with blatant falsehoods used to back up your opinion. I called you on your bull$crap and now you're getting pissed at me for doing so. Take your beating like a man and either STFU or apologize for lying.
  12. So if Gillis didn't say it publicly, then why would you come out and say that Gillis told him to join Everett? How could you possibly know that, even if it was true, if Gillis didn't say it publicly? Your posts will now be viewed with derision and scorn as you are now a known liar. See what one dumb post will get you. What you "believe" is now worth less that what I just scraped off the bottom of my shoe.
  13. Source? Proof? There was *never* any talk that I saw of Gillis telling Schroeder to join Everett. I hope you have an article to back this up. Otherwise, its just a case of "hindsight is 20/20".
  14. I think the Canucks were interested in signing Schroeder so that he could come to camp and if he didn't make the team, go play in Everett (or maybe even the Moose) rather than UMinn.
  15. Unless he's signed, he won't be coming to camp. You can't come to camp unless you're signed and if you're signed, you lose college eligibility. He won't even be at the prospects camp.
  16. Schroeder will *not* be going Everett this year and has stated to the Canucks his intentions of returning to Minny... http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/hockey/...4042/story.html
  17. Exactly. Grabner can play in the AHL and develop further with top line minutes. Hodgson can't improve any further in the OHL. After being the *best* player in the country, what's left for him there? And since he can't go to the AHL, he'll be on the Canucks team as the 2nd or 3rd line center. Grabby has a shot at the team, but with the signing of Samuelsson, we have a logjam at wing and Grabner can be easily foisted on the Moose for another year.
  18. That's for that note dude. I just ran to the tv and starting recording it. Looks like I missed the first period, but I can't wait to watch Schroeder and White.
  19. Nice to see another great pick fall into our laps for the second year in a row. Good pick. Though I was kind of hoping for a d-man like Moore.
