  1. Buffalo Sabres. 1) The Canucks' franchise expansion sibling. 2) Became a huge fan of them during the Briere/Drury days, and it stuck ever since. 3) They know the suffering us Canucks fans have been through. 47 years and counting without a cup, unlucky at the draft, difficulty acquiring good free agent talent, etc. 4) Reinhart, Eichel, Ristolainen. Bunch of beauts on that team.
  2. It would be absolutely hilarious if they did it, but it won't happen.
  3. A few years back, Vanek as my dream player to play with the twins. Big body, net presence, right hand shot, and can shoot the puck like no tomorrow. Even past his prime, I think the Sedins will have a resurgence with Vanek. Sedin-Sedin-Vanek Baertschi-Horvat-Boeser Eriksson-Gagner-Sutter Granlund-Burmistrov-Dorsett Rodin/Gaunce Not too shabby at all.
  4. I still think Vanek is the ultimate ideal linemate with the Sedins. He's great in front of the net, right handed shot, etc. If this was 5 years ago, it would be more exciting.
  5. He was playing solid hockey until Disco Dan Bylsma came in. Can see him improve immensely this year.
  6. Guy has major passion for the game, and he's got 40-50 years to enjoy retirement. Might as well try to play as long as possible. Legacy is overrated.
  7. I think Rathbone will make the biggest jump next year on this board. Kid has got loads of potential.
  8. Vote Silfverberg Nominate Marcus Foligno
  9. Not necessarily, but the Canucks were definitely going towards that direction over the past few years (Virtanen, Kassian, etc). Glad to see that they've woken up, and that they understand that the dynamic of successful teams in the league is going back to skill and speed. A lot of people on here are still behind the 8 ball when it comes to that fact, but it's good to see Benning have the right point of view.
  10. I used to be a Benning hater, but when I saw this, I have to say that I've had a change of heart. Speed and skill over big and dumb. So happy the Canucks are evolving!
  11. Love how we're getting smaller and more skilled. Going to have a more exciting team next year.
  12. 5th- Glass 33rd- Hague 55th- Gadjovich 64th- DiPietro
  13. Anybody who watched a few Sabres games know how insanely good Reinhart is. He had bad puck luck for most of this year, and still wound up with around 50 points. The Sabres were also really banged up, and Disco Dan constantly reshuffling the lines didn't help him much. Reinhart is already one of the smartest players in the league. He'll be a first line stud within the next couple of years. Horvat is amazing in a different way. Both will be great as the next few years come along.
  14. I think that one of two trades will happen here. Either between the Canucks and Stars, or Canes and Stars. Still think Tanev is getting way overvalued here. I would say something like Tanev + 33 for Lehtonen + 3 will be the trade. Hanifin for 3 is the other option, but I think Hanifin goes to Buffalo for Reinhart.
  15. God I love Chayka. A GM who is willing to make aggressive moves. The Yotes will have a deadly team in a few years.
