  1. William Lockwood | RW

He's just prepping for being a Canuck. It's par for the course with this team.
  2. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

Eriksson had been given top 6 minutes, both with the Sedins (though not for all that long) and with Bo at times. I think he looked fine with Bo, but other combinations looked better. Nevertheless, we'll see how it plays out. I'm pretty much in agreement with RDF's proposed lines there initially (barring some other signing) unless Dahlen shows more during camp. Certainly will be an interesting preseason next year.
  3. I credit a lot of their success to Gallant, who is the coach I wanted the Canucks to sign this offseason.
  4. (Signing) Utica Comets sign two.

"As you can see in this replay here, Bob, Dirk goes right through Hyman into the O zone."
  5. Does the league suspend Jake Guentzel?

Moore initiated the contact. Edler did not. Edler was going for the puck then realized he would have to deal with a collision with Hertl. Moore played the puck then initiated contact with a player in a vulnerable position.
  6. Does the league suspend Jake Guentzel?

Care to explain Edler's suspension for Hertl running into him then? And Edler wasn't trying to hit Hertl, he was bracing for the imminent collision.
  7. [Discussion] Missed Opportunity: The Third Sedin

Boeser's not gonna need the Sedins to pot 40 (not that they wouldn't have been a good fit for him in their prime). Wouldn't be surprised to see him get there either next year or the year after.
  8. A Case to draft Oliver Wahlstrom!

If we don't draft a defenseman, I'll be disappointed. The only case to be made against it IMO is if we sign Karlsson or Doughty in a couple years or to a lesser extent Carlson this offseason, if the BPA is a forward that the management group considers significantly better than the D-men available.
  9. Cole Cassels | C

Cassels with 2 goals in today's game to help keep Utica from being eliminated in the first round, though 1 was an empty netter. Named 2nd star after Demko, who got the 1st star.
  10. Put Thy $ Where The Mouth Is! ('18-19, good, or bad?)

That's more likely to happen the following summer, given who's going to be available, but yes. Hopefully we draft one of the top d-men in this draft
  11. Put Thy $ Where The Mouth Is! ('18-19, good, or bad?)

There was your first mistake. Did that with this season and our injury season was worse than last, heh. Certainly hoping for a better injury situation, but we really shouldn't expect a solid team until the year after next anyways. Looking forward to next season, regardless.
  12. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

Eh, McDavid playing in that era would speed past anyone trying to do as much. He's also physically much bigger than Gretzky so has a much better body to deal with it. Additionally, Gretzky had a goon in his lineup to deal with people trying to do as much. McDavid would as well, so that point is pretty moot.
  13. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

I'd agree with this, except there's definitely the factor of the NHL being a longer season than the SHL or college hockey or SM Liiga, so we shouldn't have our expectations too high. Plus there's the Canucks' injury factor. Either way, next year should be good, and the year after should be great.
  14. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

We also don't have a GM that won't leave our lineup without veterans to help lead the team. I'm not worried.
  15. Elias Pettersson | C/RW

Ah, my bad. Missed that one. Obviously not the same situation as the Oilers, because... they... didn't... nevermind :/
