  1. No McCann, what a joke!
  2. This is great News!!! Win or Loose, Its going to be a fun year to watch the Canucks!
  3. Sounds like Dan Russell still hates the Canucks as he is very negative on Virtanen. Way more then any other player in this game.
  4. They changed an assist to Virtanen from last nights game. So that's two multi-point games in a row for Virtanen. It sounds like Jake is getting more ice time as the coach is going with 4 lines rather then overplaying his overagers like he normally does. As the Hitmen are on a long road trip with lots of backs to back games, due to the Curling tournament at the Saddledome.
  5. http://www.saultstar.com/2014/11/05/soo-slips-by-3-2 Notes: Veteran centre Jared McCann was complaining of a sore throat Wednesday and was held out of the game as a precaution.
  6. 2 goals and 2 assisted against the Medicine Hat Tigers, the top team in the WHL. Not bad for his 2nd game back
  7. Hitmenhockey.com UPDATE: Virtanen cleared for contact Hitmen offensive stalwart Jake Virtanen is nearing closer to returning to WHL action. On Thursday evening, the Vancouver Canucks prospect was cleared for contact and will particpate in full practice with the Hitmen after undergoing shoulder surgery in May. As the 18-year-old centre comes off a blistering 45-goal campaign with the Hitmen last season, the team is targeting a Oct. 24 return to WHL regular season play for Virtanen, hoping to have him back in the lineup when they take on the Kootenay Ice at Western Financial Place.
  8. http://m.sootoday.com/content/sports/details.aspx?c=79698 Veterans Jared McCann (mononucleosis) and Jean Dupuy (St. Johns Ice Caps training camp) saw their first action of the season for the Greyhounds against the Wolves, a 6-1 win in Ontario Hockey League action.. McCann was seeing his first action since early on in training camp and picked up a goal and an assist in the win. I felt a little rusty, McCann said. Getting my energy up is probably going to be the biggest thing. I practiced for a week and felt like I was ready to go but nothing can prepare you for the game, McCann said. Youve got to be in those situations. Greyhounds Coach Sheldon Keefe was pleased with both players overall in their first action of the season. They were okay, Keefe said of McCann and Dupuy. Both of them are still adjusting, McCann in particular. He didnt play in any exhibition games or NHL camps. A couple of times he got caught on the ice for long shifts in the first period in particular. That really wore on him and you could see it but he was good.
  9. Virtanen is at the Hitmans training camp in Calgary and taking part in the drills. But he is wearing a yellow no contact sweater.
  10. I watched most of Dallas's first game on NHL Centre Ice. I was impressed with Nichushkin's size as he is very tall and if he fills out, he could be huge! He is definitely good with the puck, But, I could not really judge his skating as he seemed to be just coasting most of the game waiting for the puck to come to him. Not sure if it was first game jitters, or that he is just a lazy player. Based on this one game I was not impressed with his effort. But its still way to early to tell who will be a better player.
  11. 1 goal & 1 assist and even for the +\- in today's game against the Ottawa 67's
  12. Two sets of stats that I like are: Bieksa on a 6 game point streak! Canucks 5 wins and 1 loss in the last 6 games!
  13. Wow, do the Canucks ever miss Kevin Bieska! Almost the whole teams play has dropped off since he has been injured. I would have to say, he has clearly been the Canucks top defenseman this season. I sure hope he gets back soon!
  14. Great game by Bieksa who is playing well in his new shut down role! Game winning goal and was a +2 :D Edler and Erhoff both were -2 and did not look good on both Oilers goals. But thats hockey, most goals are scored off someones mistakes. With Bieksa now healthy his number of mistakes are the same or less then the other Canuck defensemen.
  15. I Hate the Calgary Flames! Keep up the great work Darryl Sutter! You must be taking advice from Mike Milbury. LOL
