  1. Sounds like Dan Russell still hates the Canucks as he is very negative on Virtanen. Way more then any other player in this game.
  2. They changed an assist to Virtanen from last nights game. So that's two multi-point games in a row for Virtanen. It sounds like Jake is getting more ice time as the coach is going with 4 lines rather then overplaying his overagers like he normally does. As the Hitmen are on a long road trip with lots of backs to back games, due to the Curling tournament at the Saddledome.
  3. 2 goals and 2 assisted against the Medicine Hat Tigers, the top team in the WHL. Not bad for his 2nd game back
  4. Hitmenhockey.com UPDATE: Virtanen cleared for contact Hitmen offensive stalwart Jake Virtanen is nearing closer to returning to WHL action. On Thursday evening, the Vancouver Canucks prospect was cleared for contact and will particpate in full practice with the Hitmen after undergoing shoulder surgery in May. As the 18-year-old centre comes off a blistering 45-goal campaign with the Hitmen last season, the team is targeting a Oct. 24 return to WHL regular season play for Virtanen, hoping to have him back in the lineup when they take on the Kootenay Ice at Western Financial Place.
  5. Virtanen is at the Hitmans training camp in Calgary and taking part in the drills. But he is wearing a yellow no contact sweater.
  6. 1 goal & 1 assist and even for the +\- in today's game against the Ottawa 67's
  7. I Hate the Calgary Flames! Keep up the great work Darryl Sutter! You must be taking advice from Mike Milbury. LOL

  8. I have to agree that he looks very lazy in the defensive end. He is also usually the 1st man out of the defensive zone looking for the long breakaway pass. His line is not getting much ice time. Looks like the Stefan line, is number 1 line and Schroeder is on the 3rd line.
  9. U.S. Junior Squad Drops 3-2 Shootout Decision to Czech Republic in Final Exhibition Ryan Bourque (Boxford, Mass.) notched a third-period game-tying goal, but a squad of U.S. National Junior Team candidates fell to the Czech Republic, 3-2, in a shootout here tonight at a sold-out Moose Jaw Civic Centre. Ryan Bourque was named Team USA's Player of the Game Jordan Schroeder had 1 assist. http://www.usahockey.com/world_junior_championships_2010/default.aspx?NAV=AF_01&id=276788&DetailedNews=yes
