  1. This season feels like the previous to me: worrisome play early in the season (except the start of last season they capitalized on most of their chances), but hopefully they'll be able to live up and be better than they were last year.
  2. Ever since that game we beat L.A. handily, I've been waiting for a likewise performance. Most games afterwards hadn't been. Very disappointing ending to a great season. Morales didn't look completely ready yet and his play/physicality seemed rather soft at times. Lots of bad passing/running into each other. So much lobbing the ball over hoping someone could get onto it. Defense didn't look like its normal self since the beginning. They didn't play like it was an elimination game and I think that's what disappoints me the most.
  3. To my knowledge, away goals don't mean anything unless it's a tie. So we can win 1-0, 2-1, etc as long as we score more goals. But we cannot tie with a score like 1-1 or 2-2. Bottom line: as long as the 'Caps score more goals no matter the amount, we win.
  4. My bad, I was counting MTL as a loss. Regardless, hopefully you're right. Still very disappointing given our chances and subs.
  5. Really disappointed with the finish. Canucks..er Whitecaps should've buried so many of their chances and instead they fall asleep at the end. Equally disappointing is that these last two losses will likely be in the back of their heads for the upcoming games. You'd expect with super-subs like Morales and Rosales they'd close out the game..it might've been left in better hands to the 11 who started today.
  6. Kah definitely needs to sit. Rivero is excused in my opinion. He is not getting much of the ball, or support when he has it. He still has his work ethic though and I see him help out defensively so at least he's doing that.
  7. The game reminded me of the Whitecaps home opener - flying in the first half, dead in the second. But yeah, there's a general interest in the Whitecaps here and across the league, but I don't think we're going to see a consistently filled stadium/stadium capacity crowds until we get a playoff home game.
  8. Too bad the defense was sloppy on the 2 goals. Happy to see Waston is ok, that fall looked really dangerous. Exciting game all around.
  9. Great performance. Almost dominant against a top team - hope they can keep this effort consistent.
  10. Very disappointing second half. Morales, even though made some spectacular passes, gave the ball away quite a few times. Overall team passing wasn't great. The only positive from this is that they start the season with adversity and knowing nothing will be handed to them with all the hype they've been receiving.
  11. Rough way to end the season, but I'm proud of the boys. It was a fun and eventful season at least, can't wait to see what they can accomplish next season! Bring in a decent striker!
  12. What a win. This ranks up there for the hardest working game I've ever seen from them. Massive win!
  13. Not to mention Linden played with our core group so I'm sure he'd know what kind of coach is wanted/needed
  14. http://www.tsn.ca/soccer/story/?id=436064 Thoughts? I actually didn't think Mattocks was like that..pretty revealing.
  15. Missed the San Jose game but thought I'd give the caps and caps thread some love. They've been playing great lately, our lineup looks solid. Subs maybe a bit lacking, but I think we have a pretty strong core as long as they gel and put in the work. 2nd in the West in the 3rd season so far, enjoying every moment of it.
  16. Great to see the Caps winning and the entertainment value from their games increase. Happy for Camilo.
  17. Don't know who's replacing him but really I haven't liked Rochat's play in the latter half last season and this season. Hes turned the ball over numerous times and seems to have lost some football sense. But all the best to him in DC.
  18. Great game, especially coming off the Dallas comeback. I've never been more excited watching the games. And to the poster above, the next MLS game is against Portland at home
  19. Didn't like the caps strategy at all, but oh well. They played much better when they pushed L.A. (even though LA committed less players near the end). Still a memorable season overall and I'm excited for what next season will bring. I hope YP returns!
  20. ahhhh I realize Robson does a lot of work out there but if only he were a tad bit better...and Camilo...man that game was there to win. Better than losing at least, with their luck against the Sounders
  21. Dallas is a disgrace...but regardless of that and the reffing, the caps really need to start figuring out their problems. They either seem unmotivated or just don't make the 'common sense' plays. Too many times I've seen hopeful passes or ones that just expect too much of a player. Hopefully the home stretch will make that progression faster.
