  1. Is Jake Virtanen ready for the NHL?

I think Virtanen is fine. He brings an energy and presence to the lineup that is sorely lacking when he's out of the lineup. Last night was a good example as they could have used some speed, energy, and grit over a couple of "stone handed" vets that played instead of him. With that said, I still think Willie D is the wrong coach for this team, and I feel that Virtanen seems to be suffering the most under Willie D's "make a mistake and I'll staple your ass to the pine for the entire period" mentality. IF Virtanen does get sent down at some point in time I'll certainly blame the coach and his "style over Virtanen's lack of skill.

Thanks. Thought I missed some energy out there.
  3. [GDT] New Jersey Devils VS. Vancouver Canucks, Nov 22, 7:00 PM

Is Virtanen not playing tonight? Sorry as this may seem like a stupid question but I could have sworn I saw him in the first period. ??

GDT without lines ups? Did I miss something? Thanks.
  5. [PGT] Another 7-7-6

We've lost just about every game this year in the exact same way. Shorten the bench in the 3rd, sit the kids (for the most part) and go with the vets. What do we see? A vet coughing up the puck, making a lame pass that gets picked off, making an ill timed line change, or just simply showing that the skills of some of the "go to" vets have eroded to the point that they just don't deserve the ice time they are getting. I mean really! We're loosing already. What have you got to loose my rolling 4 lines for 60 minutes and letting the ice time for the kids and the vets get closer to parity? Yes. We still may loose, but I guarantee you it will be more exciting and less predictable than what were currently getting, AND it will simply be something different. Would like to see "different" for the next 20 games or so. I realize that it's only 20 games in, but surely JB and TL have to be at least thinking how much longer Wille can go with the same loosing scenario before they have to deal with it?
  6. Who will be the next coach of the Vancouver Canucks

Tend to agree. I mean really. How many times can you loose a hockey game in the exact same way before somebody above you says enough is enough. Classic example in the third tonight. Baertschi has a great shift. His reward? He gets stapled to the pine for 8 minutes. Even the announcers made mention of it. Great shift and now he sits?? No sooner do they say that and he comes on the ice and generates one of the best scoring chances for the Canuck sin the third period. I believe it was Horvat that couldn't convert the set up by Burrows after Baertschi did all the work. Where does he go? You guessed it. Back to shinning the pine with his butt. Game after game after game after game. Same. Same Same. Shorten the bench. Go to the vets. Sit the kids. Vet coughs it up. Canucks loose. If the kids coughed up the puck as much as the vets have this season, they would NEVER see the ice, yet vet aftervet after vet gets a free pass for crappy play and the kids sit. (???) YET!! It's the kids that are here to replace the vets that are screwing up. I wonder what the kids are learning and what must be going through their minds when they see their so called "mentors" playing like crap and coughing up the puck all over the ice? When the kids finally do see the ice they have zero confidence or little idea what to do because they already know that if are even within 20 feet of a puck that gets coughed up or turned over they ride the pine for the next 10 minutes. (??) Willie? Hello? WE ARE LOOSING! It's the vets and YOUR decisions that are costing us games! Play the kids!! Sit the vets!! We may still loose but I guarantee you it will be more exciting and much less predictable than what's been going on for the first 20 games of this season.
  7. [PGT] VAN 2 TOR 4

Shortening the bench again! (??????) Against the Leafs??? WTF Willie?? Soooooooo tired of the vets getting a free pass. Edler was HORRID tonight in the first period and not much better for the rest of the game. Higgins? Another invisible I'll just collect my paycheck night. Hamhuis? Wow! So bad. Vrbrata?? TRADE - GIVE AWAY - THE CLOWN PLEASE!! Weber is awful as well. Dorsett is terrible without Prust and the defence his HORRID without Sbisa. Geez..   Funny, al most laughable I guess, cause if the kids played like the vets, they would have pine ass for the next millennium. The whole damn team looks like a rudderless ship right now.
  8. The puck stops at hamhuis

Agee with the assessment of Weber and Hamhuis, and while you're at it you might as well add Edler to the mix. He was simply HORRID tonight. Lost count of how many times he gave the puck away.
  9. [PGT] Canucks lose in OT 4-3.

    Agreed! Certainly suspendable.
  10. [PGT] Canucks lose in OT 4-3.
