  1. Rumours have swirled about both teams working hard toward a "hockey deal". While no rumours have expressly linked the two teams to each other, they seemingly have players on the outs (healthy scratches, or rumoured to be being shopped) that could intrigue the other. TO VANCOUVER:W JIRI SEKAC, D ALEXEI EMELIN, C LARS ELLER, D JARRED TINORDI TO MONTREAL W ZACK KASSIAN W ALEX BURROWS W CHRIS HIGGINS W HUNTER SHINKARUK Montreal: Sekac has been healthied the previous 2 games. Emelin has long been rumoured to be on the outs. Same deal with Eller. Tinordi is a tough one for them, but he has fallen down the depth chart (according to the sports forecaster from THN) and by dealing from a position of strength, bring in additional assets. Kassian gives them size upfront. Burrows is French, and has found his game recently, plus brings Cup experience (albeit unsuccessful) he's a winner. Higgy is a fan favourite in MTL and would fit in perfectly on the third line on the Habs. Shinkaruk helps replenish their forward prospect reserves with their existing class graduating to the NHL. Vancouver: The Canucks use their glut of forwards to address several needs, while also appeasing the Vancouver masses hollering for a shakeup. Eller would give them size and skill at centre who could potentially take over for Bonino in the 2 hole. Sekac needs to fill out, but he has a size (6'2) and a good shot. Emelin would give us a hammer on the backend to size up some the Pacific division counterparts big forwards. Jarred Tinordi immediately becomes our best defensive prospect and likely plays for us. The Canucks may have to add a pick or additional prospect (Jensen, Grenier etc).
