^ you should definetley leave sfu if it gets worse. I remember getting stuck in my car for 3 hours last year when it snowed like this

I have my last exam on Monday at SFU...wonder what the chances are that it'll snow and the final will be postponed? Because I think I would welcome an extra day or two to study lol

^ yeah last year I tried to take transit up to SFU, but they cancelled all the buses to there, so I was forced to drive because I had a test that day, but as soon as I got up there, I found out they closed SFU. I was not amused.... Just by looking at the picture you posted, I wouldn't be surprised if they cancelled/postponed the exams for today.

Are you busing or driving?? If you're driving, I hope you don't get stuck on the road for 3 hours like I did because they had to close another road.... but I guess better safe than sorry!

There is supposedly a hotel somewhere, I think they were charging $25 for the night. If I didn't drive, I probably would've paid that instead of walking down the hill. I was really tempted to ask people (who were walking down the hill) if they wanted a ride, but didn't. They probably made it down the hill faster than I did lol

I've been sorta stuck up there. It was last February, I was going to take a bus up there because I had a test but then I found out the buses were cancelled. I decided to drive up to SFU only to find out that classes were cancelled. I was deciding whether or not I should wait for it to stop snowing at SFU because I didn't have much experience driving in the snow, but I decided it was better to drive home before it got dark. Big mistake, because I was stuck in my car for 3 hours because they closed the road. It was not a pleasant experience lol

Another update from Steve: I'm so relieved I made it home.... I feel bad for everyone who is stuck at SFU and who will have to spend the night.

What a past 4 hours I've had. I live in Coquitlam, and I left for SFU around 3:30 to wait for the bus. I waited for twenty minutes and the bus never came. (I later found out that Translink cancelled all buses to SFU). I phoned my sister to make her check for me if the school was open, she said it was. I needed to go to school because I had a test today worth 30%, so I decided to drive. Driving up the Gargladi hill wasn't bad, but once I was at top of the mountain, driving to the parking lot was awful. I didn't have a parking pass but I ended up parking at the G Lot parking lot because it was the closest to me. I walk to my class and it's half full. The teacher decides to send everyone home...and that's when all the fun began. It took me 3 freakin' hours just to drive home. I spent 2 1/2 hours on the same road that would usually only take me 2 minutes to drive. The roads were slippery, and again I was slidding. A lot of cars were stuck and there were a lot of accidents. However, once I got to the intersection of Gargladi and University way, all was fine. I was very tempted to pick up some hitchhikers though. I felt bad for them because they were walking down the mountain. Anyways, that's my story..... I really needed to vent lol

yeah it was... I'm not sure if it is anymore. I was just driving home and it was snowing pretty hard and sticking to the road.
