Lmao. If I told you, I'd have to kill you.

    3. luckylager

Nice to know there's other flyfisherman here. I know @Kryten is one.

It's important to grow up and learn how to fish like adult.

    4. Kryten

Yep, nice to see fly-fishers on the forum.

As for a spot, I would help you Violator but I’m not familiar with the valley, I’m in the interior (and gearing up for upcoming sedge hatches).

I didn't go to the dentist until I acutally got dental coverage so about 12 years in between visits.  I had a root canal and 4 cavities and veneers put in, it was something like 10 visits that year.  Actually fell asleep without any drugs during the root canal lol.

In a way, a lot of hockey fans are "racist" towards each other.

Canucks fans hate Flames fans, and vice versus - because of the colours they wear.

Unless you're an Edmonton "fan" - don't you find the following landmark "offensive"?

Send in a petition to have it torn down!

    3. NewbieCanuckFan

@Phil_314  They SHOULD rename the Lady Byng trophy imho.  It just isnt treated with much respect.  Heck, I'm an old fart and had to look up who the heck Lady Byng was.  Unfortunate given that she was a fan of hockey but I think the trophy would have alot more meaning if it was named after someone like Jean Beliveau.  Mr. Class!

    4. King Heffy

      King Heffy

I'd prefer if trophies were named after players.

  4. With all this social distancing and drinking at home im sure alot of peoples drinking and driving skills are pretty bad.

    1. brilac

I'm the opposite.  I have not drank since February, and boy do I love champagne! I've been tempted to buy champagne, and then I drink kombucha.

    2. Violator

Kombucha is expensive mabye down south its cheaper like everything else.

    3. brilac

Yeah, I can get it for less than $3.00 for a 16 oz bottle.  I've bought kombucha at Whole Foods in Vancouver for $3 something for a 16 oz / 473 ml bottle.

@Violator It's a good move.  1 night stay at the vet hospital ~ $1,000.  Ultrasound ~ $650.  Feeding tube installed in esophagus ~ $950.  Unscheduled visit at vet hospital ~ $160.  Those are just a few recent examples.  That doesn't account for the meds, fluids and other stuff.  I wish I had taken my own advice and set aside money when he was young.  He's 14 now and I would have had enough money set aside for his recent troubles.

Don't get me wrong.  Getting a dog was the best thing we ever did.  And I have zero regrets spending all this money on him.  My only regret is not setting aside money since he was a pup.

    3. Violator

Yeah i will probably set up a long term savings account for her.Its the smart thing to do especially since you invest so much love and time into her.

    4. brilac

I had a cat who passed away in December, and I am still paying the bill.  I put it on a cc that has no interest for 6 months.  She  was in the animal hospital for 2 days, and the bill was around $3,400.

Might want to check the Canada Line at rush hour Ron. Built what little over 10 years ago. 8 am you have to wait 1-2 trains to squeeze on board. If transit is convenient and runs often, it gets used. I've been taking transit more and more lately, because I'm getting sick of spending 90 minutes to 2 hours getting home stuck in traffic.

Just bad scheduling or no work?

      Sucks either way

Hope you get the hours you need

    2. kingofsurrey

That sucks.  Employers need to make an effort to give workers  regular shifts if at all possible. If its not possible, then good communication is critical / essential.

Not having work is super stressful and its tough to make plans when you aren't kept in the loop by irresponsible managers...

Hope you get the call back soon.  In the meantime , try to spend time with those close to you in your life. Do something special with them and tell them how much they mean to you.  Life goes by way too quick.

    3. Violator

Been like this since i started with them.Really late on the warning if no work the next day i get paid by the hour so no work means no pay.

Hey PB, Oliver Stone was on to this early.

Remember in the (classic) 1988 Wall St, Gordon Gecko introduces one of his fat brokers as, "The Terminator!"

Personally feel language & culture started going heavily plastic in the 80's. As everything got supersized, we needed to economize the jargon of the day.

Luckily it turns out it wasnt life threatening and there was only one person infront of me.Security guard left to get his pizza delivery.

Lady that was brought in with actual issues by an ambulance.

    4. kingofsurrey

I learned that lesson the hard way driving my dad to the ER as he was close to dying....

I should have called the ambulance to his house.... Ambulance gets you direct care....  Driving someone in puts that person in the waiting line...

For any kind of serious emergency don't hesitate to call for an ambulance.

Just about cost me my dad, learning that lesson.......

Of course my mom was thinking my dad ... just needed to suck it up at home........    - he had contracted meningitis and was fading fast as it turned out....

Our parents are tough SOB's .... but when they get to old age ... that can be a very dangerous trait for them....

My sister when she had her first baby, you could barely tell she was pregnant. She was playing tennis two weeks before she gave birth. My oldest niece was an easy delivery too.

Now my youngest niece, nature had her revenge on my sister on that one.

That's funny, when it was happening to Vancouver, all the Toronto media was saying is:

Now that it's happening to them they suddenly think they're on our side?

At least Kadri deserved his suspension - Rome's was a joke.

    3. Gnarcore

The reffing in 2011 for the first 3 rounds he went away when it was the finals.....

Not really shocking that Sportsnet and TSN are pro Leafs since they both own the team. CBC on the other hand should not be so biased but then again they do have Don Cherry as a commentator
