      @Violator It's a good move.  1 night stay at the vet hospital ~ $1,000.  Ultrasound ~ $650.  Feeding tube installed in esophagus ~ $950.  Unscheduled visit at vet hospital ~ $160.  Those are just a few recent examples.  That doesn't account for the meds, fluids and other stuff.  I wish I had taken my own advice and set aside money when he was young.  He's 14 now and I would have had enough money set aside for his recent troubles.  

       

      Don't get me wrong.  Getting a dog was the best thing we ever did.  And I have zero regrets spending all this money on him.  My only regret is not setting aside money since he was a pup.

      Yeah i will probably set up a long term savings account for her.Its the smart thing to do especially since you invest so much love and time into her.

      I had a cat who passed away in December, and I am still paying the bill.  I put it on a cc that has no interest for 6 months.  She  was in the animal hospital for 2 days, and the bill was around $3,400.
