  1. you don't see any similarities between how our team is built and what the bruins did that made them so successful? Benning might know a thing or two about the boston model also you can look at the last 10 years of teams that were at the bottom and most of them do not have a cup. I'd rather go the detroit route than the pitsburg one
  2. exactly, who the hell would ever want a team good enough to actually make the playoffs (worst thing ever) when you can just be brutal and maybe get better draft picks. Two birds in the bush are always better than one in the hand as the old saying goes
  3. it is possible to play your way onto the team and start the year on the farm. This is not out of the normal for a hockey club. There is half a dozen guys i want to see kill it in camp and win those last 2 spots. I can't remember the last time we had this much depth/competition coming up. Just give the fire GMMB, fire Green talk a rest til at least the season starts, please
  4. sooo now that GB has gone out and got us some real depth that can help us out in a call up situation the only way you will be happy is if we loose some of said depth on the waver wire, do i have your logic right?
  5. HUGELY were one of the softest teams in the NHL WITH dorsett in the line up. His value has nothing to do with how many playoff goals he has it's more about grit, effort and hard work, ...you know the stuff you want to rub off on the young guys who do score the playoff goals
  6. toughness doesn't matter as much if the other team fears your powerplay.
  7. only way they retire at the end of next season is with the cup
  8. fighting is never the answer so i submit to you the top 5 former canucks who give the best hugs 1) kyle wellwood, would have you hugging it out and going for cheeseburgers in no time 2) dave babych, top bear hug period 3) eddie lack, just try to start a fight after seeing one of his moms tweets 4/5) sedin twins, they are the type of people who excel at everything they do so i'm assuming their hug skills are off the charts as well
  9. 1) most of the players asked did say it was sad to see him go, horvat, beartchi, dorsett. The sedins made a point to share the blame around the entire team when talking about willie. They actually said the willie fireing said more about the individual performance of the team than willies coaching. It might have more to do with what you want to hear or maybe the kids all loved him and the vets all hated him, but i doubt it 2) as far as work ethic the sedins are easily our best conditioned athletes and at their age that's impressive, as far as putting in the work to be ready to play hockey it's not even close
  10. yep, hurt feeling that willie didn't play the kids the way the FANS wanted. Who cares that willies way was actually better for the kids development in the long run, who cares that we had a coach that held our players accountable. The facts of the matter mean nothing when compared to the fans FEELINGS. willie had the ear of the room, his players clearly understood that you have to put in hard work to earn your spot, it didn't matter what the name on the back of your jersey was if you had all the talent in the world you still had to work harder than a guy like a chaput or a megna to stick in the line up. I get that you want to make changes after an abysmal season but coaching was never our one and only problem last year just the easiest target for a quick fix wille did play the kids and he did treat all players equally only difference is the FANS divided up the ice time based on offensive potential alone, willie went by work ethic and defensive awareness. Offense helps you win games and defense helps you win championships
  11. the original Tokyo drift, you could pull off epic power slides on one of these
  12. why not zoidburg?
  13. that's what i got also all of their descriptions of what they might be looking for in a future coach described greens situation to a tee
  14. the new coach will have the final "option" on weather jarvis sticks, he is still a valuable hockey mind in a support role, the powerplay isn't much to brag about though
  15. i' don't think anyone is safe in this market, we would run bobby freeking orr out of town for pinching too much
