  1. I have only been here twice in my life, both times in March. Haven't actually seen much of the City, I drove almost to the eastern edge and grabbed a hotel. Reminds of a place like Prince George. Poor infrastructure, dirty, and a bunch of new shiny box stores to give the people something to do, I guess.
  2. I can't believe people CHOOSE to live in Saskatchewan. I'm thicc but this wind cuts right through me!
  3. Stuck in Regina due to weather (weird, hey?) Looking forward to watching some hockey and taking a break from the road!
  4. Was able to listen to a bit of it on the radio on my way out to Hope. Finally sold and moving to Ontario....long drive ahead of me! Whatever happened to Corey Hirsch? He was filling in for Garrett last year and all over the place, I feel like since his book was released I haven't heard much? I've been so out of the loop and the Canucks start winning again, maybe thats the trick, i'll move to Toronto area and Canucks will win the cup? Are Canucks a real player on Livingston? Sorry, stuck in a truck all day, so this is my diary.
  5. Damn! I was at the game where Nabokov scored against the Canucks. Have we now given up the most goalie goals in history?
  6. I have no doubt, like Horvat, Raty will have it worked on. I never expect him to be a burner, but I think he will be able to utilize his wide base and become a good puck protector. Like Alf mentioned, he has a high IQ, all those guys need is a little separation to create magic and some improvements to his skating will do wonders for his game.
  7. I mostly watched the game for Raty. I'm surprised more people aren't talking about his skating stride. His upper body and lower body look like they are being operated by 2 different people. Upper body is twisting, lower body has wide base with long strides, so it appears he should be getting a lot of momentum, but mostly looks like he is skating in sand.
  8. Are there many options for out of market Canucks games where you can watch the replay the following day? Moving from Vancouver Island to Leafs country and 10pm starts might get old, fast haha. I remember the NHL app on AppleTV used to have this option, but with sportsnet taking over everything, I feel like my options are buying SN now and just recording on PVR.

  9. As posted above, we already have a tankathon discussion thread Cheers!
  10. Some good ODR jersey potential there. Great point! haha
  11. Cool, a buddy of mine just played his first season in the AIHL for the Melbourne Mustangs and apparently the league is a blast to play in. was 2 points per game as a D man, so take that for what it's worth lol. A country that would probably love some NHL exposure to help grow the game. World Juniors 2030. Team Australia?
  12. There are too many here who are self-appointed 'smartest in the room' They can theorize all day long, but when it doesn't match their opinion, it's just 'wrong' I always get a kick out of certain posters who claim playing high level hockey (with 0 receipts) so their opinion is more valid.
  13. Ok, hear me out... Canucks fold after this season, do not participate next season, come back as an EXPANSION team the following season. Boom! quick rebuild!
  14. That was a fun game to watch. The O zone attack time was insane. I like what Tocchet is preaching in his pressers. Total accountability, buy in, nobody is bigger than the game and no matter what your salary, you have to play like you belong in the NHL. Probably the right coach to really assess what he has (makes me excited about the off season potential? -- Hello Front Office, money where mouth is this summer, please) at this time. I want a lottery pick, but I also want to see improvement from the on-ice product with regards to: playing the game the right way, play without the puck, unforced errors, etc. A couple of small tidbits from last night: Pettersson is dangerous, when he plays with a bit of an edge, I feel like he really gets into the game. I think Tocc is gonna get the most out of Petey. Dermott had his best game since returning from injury. He had some jump, made quick high % plays when he had to, and really uses his body well along the wall. It LOOKS like he wants the puck (see: Burroughs -- dog on bone in corners, I like that). Dries/Joshua - Both had strong games. I was wondering how the bottom 6 would be after Tocc's comments about seeing if these guys can even play. Just because Bruce had them in the lineup doesn't mean anything and I feel those 2, especially, didn't stop moving their feet all night and made most of their ice time.
  15. For years, I was always under the impression that 'Girls go to Jupiter to get more stupider' Childhood was all a lie.
  16. Wow. This one stings. Some of my earliest childhood memories of the Canucks have Gino in them. I still remember chanting Gino! Gino! Gino! in our basement and flying around on the furniture (the only time nobody would notice and yell at me). Scoring goals in the NHL is hard, Gino's job was tough. Absolutely on the Canucks Mt. Rushmore of scrappers/fan favourites. Right up there beside Rypien.
