  1. My dad drove truck. Later in his driving days, he worked in town in a warehouse and did local P&D. Even then, there were the occasional times where they would have to take an empty trailer down to Quesnel to switch with the driver coming up because that driver was running out of hours and wouldn't make it to PG.
  2. The way he looped around and got him. The Lions should give him a call. LOL kidding.
  3. The one that gets me is that Class 5 drivers don't have to do any medical and eye testing until well into their senior years. Whereas Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 drivers have somewhat regular testing. The only reason I got glasses is because I just failed an eye test when getting my Class 4. Some middle aged, overweight guy with failing eyesight can drive his lifted F350 with a 24 foot travel trailer with no issue. There are plenty of drivers out there that medically should have some restrictions. Yet, it's only professional drivers that have to face any real scrutiny.
  4. Get used to seeing this putt over and over. Will be a feature in the year end reviews.
  5. Congrats https://www.sportsnet.ca/golf/article/nick-taylor-becomes-first-canadian-since-1954-to-win-canadian-open/ Nick Taylor becomes first Canadian since 1954 to win Canadian Open Nick Taylor, of Canada, reacts after sinking his putt on the 18th hole during final round golf action at the Canadian Open championship in Toronto on Sunday, June 11, 2023. (Andrew Lahodynskyj/CP) Canada's Nick Taylor won the Canadian Open title Sunday in a playoff, becoming the first Canadian to win the country's men's national golf championship since 1954. Taylor defeated England's Tommy Fleetwood in the fourth playoff hole with an insane 72-foot putt to take home the title and snap a drought for the Canadian men that lasted 69 years. The 72-footer was the longest make of Taylor's PGA career. Not a bad place to do it. After the putt, a strong Canadian contingent of fans erupted in support of their fellow Canuck. One day after posting a course record 63 at Oakdale Golf and Country Club in Toronto, Taylor started quickly on his quest to become the first Canadian since Pat Fletcher to win the national open, carding a birdie on the second hole of his final round. By the end of his front nine, the Abbotsford, B.C. native had three more and had moved into the lead. Overall, Taylor finished with eight birdies and two bogeys Sunday, carding a 66 to finish 17-under for the tournament. Taylor capped off his round with a clutch 11-footer for birdie that had the Canadian crowd in a frenzy. Taylor had a number of fellow Canadian golfers in the crowd watching the playoff, including Canadian golfing legend Mike Wier and Corey Conners. The win was Taylor's third on the PGA Tour and first since 2020, when he won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. When Fletcher won in 1954 at Point Grey Golf Club in Vancouver, he was the first Canadian to do so since Karl Keffer in 1914, a 40-year gap. This 69-year wait was much longer, but was finally stopped by an incredible four-day performance from the 35-year-old Taylor.
  6. Congratulations Man City on completing the treble. Man City 1 - Inter 0
  7. I don't think it is quite possible. Premier League teams have 38 league matches, FA and League Cups, International breaks (international friendlies/Euro qualifiers/WC qualifiers/Nation League) , as well as the UEFA club competitions (Champions League/Europa League/Conference League). That is a lot of match days to fit into a season. Other leagues don't have the 2nd domestic cup competition and the Germany only has 18 clubs so their season has less matches (they make it up with a winter break). Also, this past season was messed up with the World Cup pausing the season. Going forward, I think the domestic season will end a bit earlier.
  8. Sanity prevailed. If you need an organ transplant, you will be required to have all your vaccinations up to date. That includes COVID vaccines. What a waste of money to be told the obvious. When you've drank the Flavor Aid, obvious things like this are hard to see. https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/supreme-court-of-canada-won-t-hear-unvaccinated-woman-s-case-for-organ-donation-1.6432718 Supreme Court of Canada won't hear unvaccinated woman's case for organ donation OTTAWA - The Supreme Court of Canada will not hear the appeal of an Alberta woman who was unwilling to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to get a life-saving organ transplant. Annette Lewis was diagnosed with a terminal disease in 2018 and was told she would not survive unless she received an organ transplant. She was placed on a transplant wait list in 2020, but was informed a year later she would need to get the COVID-19 vaccine to receive the organ. RELATED STORIES Alberta Court of Appeal dismisses unvaccinated woman's case for organ donation 'An ultimatum': Albertan claims her vaccine status is getting in the way of needed lung transplant Lewis said taking the vaccine would offend her conscience and argued the requirement violated her Charter rights to life, conscience, liberty and security of the person. "I ought to have the choice about what goes into my body, and a life-saving treatment cannot be denied to me because I chose not to take an experimental treatment for a condition — COVID-19 — which I do not have and which I may never have," Lewis said in an affidavit previously submitted to court. The case was dismissed by an Alberta court, which said the Charter has no application to clinical treatment decisions, in particular for doctors establishing preconditions for organ transplants. Justice Paul Belzil ruled that standard of care must be the same for all potential recipients or it could result in "medical chaos." The Alberta Court of Appeal upheld the decision, prompting Lewis's appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada. "Ms. Lewis is deeply disappointed that the Supreme Court of Canada decided not to hear her case," Allison Pejovic, Lewis's lawyer, said in a news release from the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms. "She had hoped that justice would prevail in the courts for herself and other unvaccinated transplant candidates across Canada." Pejovic said Lewis's constitutional challenge ends with the Supreme Court of Canada's dismissal but she will continue trying to get the life-saving surgery. Lewis recently filed a separate legal action against Alberta Health Services, an Alberta hospital and the transplant doctors. There is a publication ban on the doctors' identities, the organ involved and the location of the transplant program. Lewis is arguing negligence in the decision to remove her from the high-priority transplant list, saying it amounts to medical malpractice. The Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms said Lewis will ask the court at an upcoming injunction hearing to grant an immediate reinstatement to the transplant list pending the result of the court action.
  9. I saw a post that their Murray and Jokic's averages are very similar to the averages that Kobe and Shaq had during their Championship run with the Lakers.
  10. The grifter televangelists in the mold of Pat. There are a number of them. They haven't made the world better and have used desperate people to make themselves rich. Copeland is a prime example. The world would definitely be a better place if people like Pat and Copeland didn't exist. We could move this to the God Thread in the Adults Club if you want.
  11. Man, I wish a number of these guys would just die. These grifters have caused so much damage, I'm not sure we will ever see it repaired.
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Canada ended up with the 2015 edition because the other country that bid (Zimbabwe) withdrew their bid at the end of the bidding process. That meant the Canadian bid was "chosen", and we ended up with the artificial turf World Cup.
  13. Nuggets take a 2 - 1 lead in the series. https://www.nba.com/news/nikola-jokic-30-20-10-nba-fiinals-history Nikola Jokic registers 1st 30-20-10 triple-double in NBA Finals history Nikola Jokic has 3 career games with 30 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists in the playoffs. 14. The Hammers win some silverware. That stings as an Arsenal fan.

  16. He's going to Dunedin. The Jay's pitching lab is there. The organization spent lots of cash to renovate and build a world class facility there. All this is using the lab to fix him. Whether it's a conditioning issue or a mechanical issue, he's going to get the best there to get him right. It let's him get right without much media coverage, unlike a demotion to AAA. I think for various MLB rules, assigning him there was the only way he could access the pitching lab. I wouldn't be surprised if other teams have something like this in the works.
