  1. Not going to be pretty. 5-2 Preds
  2. [GDT] Canucks vs Jets 5:00PM (SNP/SN650)

Time to bring Boucher up surely for next game. Byfuglien probably out for this game but we're going to surely get shutout 3-0.
  3. Dowd hopefully in for this, we need a protector against the goon Flames, especially with no big boys in Guddy, Dorsett or Horvat now too. Bit concerned by the lack of physicality on this team so Dowd really needs to step up, as do Gaunce and especially Virtanen. 2-1 Canucks
  4. [Trade] Canucks trade Jordan Subban to Kings for Nic Dowd

Good to see JB identifies a weakness, doesn't sit on it and addresses it quickly rather than wait for the losses to pile up. We lose a good faceoff man in Horvat, we lose toughness in Dorsett, we lose center depth, this trade addresses all of those problems and very inexpensively. Subban has had an average season, this was his big chance and he didn't take it by the reins, but rather got bumped down the Utica depth chart. Wiercioch is scoring at nearly a point per game at the AHL as is Holm and Subban has had defensive weaknesses too. He's defensively and offensively subpar right now, trading him when his value is down so Dowd is quite the haul for Subban straight up. I say inject him straight onto our fourth line next game.
  5. [Trade] Canucks trade Jordan Subban to Kings for Nic Dowd

We've got enough fringe NHL defencemen now with Holm and Wiercioch playing lights out in Utica, Subban woulf never get a crack before them.
  6. Bo Horvat | #53 | C

Hopefully Sutter gets back soon. Lucky JB bolstered our center depth with Gagner and Burmistrov, this is why teams with 6 or 7 NHL centers make the playoffs
  7. [Injuries] Canucks 2017/18

We can handle one top center injury but if Sutters out as well this team will drop right off. Shame because we're a consistent playoff team right now.
  8. [Report] Canucks recall Michael Chaput and Thatcher Demko

Sutter and Horvat out, ouch, this team is going to struggle just when they started stringing wins together and getting into a prime playoff spot. Henrik back to 1st line center. Convert Granlund to center, get Burmistrov in the middle too and Gagner back to center as well. Cam Darcy is intriguing too, he's had a decent start to the Utica season.
  9. Derrick Pouliot | #5 | D

I wanted Pouliot when he was in the AHL with Pittsburgh ripping it up. The guy has always been good, he just needed an opportunity and he really wasn't getting it in Pittsburgh for whatever reason. We need to target more guys like this. Shea Theodore was another prime example. JB did the smart thing though, wait until his value was at an all time rock bottom and now we have a future star on our hands. He's only in his early 20s, Pouliot by 28-30 could really hit his prime and help this team contend.
  10. Pouliot has been one of our best D-men since coming over, getting better and better every game. Good defensively, brilliant offensive explosion lately, there's no way he comes out. Stecher has been average this season offensively, better defensively but still not great. Hutton has been God-awful all season long. IMO our depth chart right now goes: Tanev > Edler > Pouliot = MDZ = Gudbranson > Stecher > Hutton Hutton or Stecher sit, we've made so much progress with Pouliot so far and he's gaining momentum and only getting better every single game, Green would be an idiot to sit him any time soon.
  11. Erik Karlsson (discussion)

Arguably one of the best 3 players in the world, he doesn't have to show loyalty to anyone. Karlsson deserves top dollar and a legitimate Cup chance, not sub-10M by a bunch of cheapskate owners on a team that's forever on the fringe.
  12. How is Travis Green Doing So Far?

All depends on how he goes down the stretch and whether the team makes the playoffs or not. So far he's done admirably but the season is still very young and a lot can change. I've been very impressed by how he adapts to different teams, different players and different styles on the fly. That is the stuff of a good playoff coach and those are the coaches that win Championships - the ones that aren't rigid (eg. AV, WD) but can adapt to their opponent. Think of Quinneville and Babcock, they're geniuses and their teams get better during a 7 game playoff series because they can adapt and beat their opponent over time. That's what I think Green will be capable of one day.
  13. [PGT] Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Vancouver Canucks

The Sedins have their swagger back and it's great to see they can still take over a game, they've always played well in these big Leafs games and this was a huge one. Edler playing like his old self too and shutdown one of the league's best lines, hopefully this is a sign of things to come. I thought Pouliot had another strong game, lock this kid down long term. Obviously Markstrom is the star and good to see him bounce back. The Canucks are winning the big games and it's great to see. The veterans have been coming through clutch in these important games when our kids disappear for a bit but that bodes well for us long term for sure.
  14. [Waivers] Matt Tennyson, Nathan Walker

Walker claimed so we'll get a good look at him every now and then. I'm not sure if the Canucks were above the Oilers on the waiver wire but it would have been interesting to see if JB thought we could use a bit more grit after losing Dorsett via the waiver wire or if he never even had a chance.
  15. Brock Boeser named Rookie of the Month for November

Crazy stat was that he's one of 8 superstars since 2000 to score 30 points in their first 32 games.
