  1. 22 jump street - 8/10 I'd go again just to see the credits.
  2. Honestly. You are such a loser. All you do is talk crap about bitcoin, yet YOU are the only who posts the most in this thread. I made this thread and you post in it more than I do. Like, such a loser.
  3. You are so blind it is ridiculous, I can't even fathom. You're posting about all these 'problems' with bitcoin, yet are so oblivious to even doing the slightest bit of research on currency we have today. I honestly cannot take anything you post seriously. edit: nor should anyone else.
  4. So first of all, it is not my job to educate you on why bitcoin is more reliable than fiat money. It is your job to educate yourself on how currencies are established and establish your own opinion - something you clearly have not done. All I'm saying now is what? I never told you anybody to invest in bitcoin. I'm providing my opinion on bitcoin, relative to where we stand with the monetary system today. If that's what you inferred from what I wrote, maybe you really do need to start reading books.
  5. Thank you for once again allowing me to reiterate on my previous point. Read a book on the history of money, money in present time, and the future of money. You are a fool if you think that you precious little paper notes in your wallet are backed by the gold standard. Fiat money is where we currently sit. I'm not going to try and argue with you about bitcoin, if you don't even understand money today. That is all I'm trying to say, I am not sorry if I offended you.
  6. Sorry, that's my apology. Not you. Meant to quote dittohead, with reference to his comment, "It could disappear in an instant. no thanks."
  7. Your opinion on bitcoin means next to nothing, if you don't even understand how money in today's society is created, distributed and regulated.
  8. First of all, bitcoin is a digital currency, not a virtual currency. Second of all, your 'physical' currency is actually a fiat currency. Read a book and you'll learn a thing or two.
  9. Haven't posted in a while, but your best option is physical exchanges. Bitcoiniacs operates in the West End and you can ensure your transactions to go through. That's the biggest pitfall with online exchanges, you just don't know where they're based/where your moneys getting toyed.
  10. This is huge. Overstock.com accepting bitcoin. http://www.wired.com/business/2014/01/overstock-bitcoin-live/
  11. Predicted it happening. People cash out during the holidays to buy gifts. Buy back in when the price is low in the new year.
  12. I use the ATM frequently, actually. It is a great way to get a wallet started with limited knowledge. Bitcoiniacs, the company behind the bitcoin ATM, even has it's office located in the Waves coffee on Howe Street. I would definitely stop by, even to talk to one of the reps about bitcoin. Waves coffee even accepts bitcoin as a payment for coffee.
  13. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/blogs/taibblog/outrageous-hsbc-settlement-proves-the-drug-war-is-a-joke-20121213 This article shows how outrageous the banking system is. And what do the banks get in such a shameful scandal? A slap on the wrist.
  14. Well, the money that you think is money isn't even money. It's fiat money.
  15. Bitcoin is essentially a decentralized peer-to-peer network that is powered by no middlemen (ie banks), but powered by the users, without any central authority. It is considered to be a crypto-currency, where cryptography is used when the exchange bitcoin is made. It's quite revolutionary, actually. Considering that we live one of the most bitcoin-accepting communities in the world, I feel that a lot of people should invest some cash into the system.
  16. I'm surprised we haven't had a thread on bitcoin here. Any other bitcoin enthusiasts on CDC? What are your thoughts on the future of currency. I've been following bitcoin for two years now. It's nice to see the amount of attention it has been receiving. My friend launched the worlds first bitcoin ATM on Howe street. Has anyone here taken a look at it?
  17. I made this thread and didn't realize till today it went to 98 pages. That's unreal
  18. It bothers me so much when people who are religious try to convince others on their opinions with religion. It also bothers me so much when people who aren't religious try to convince others on their opinions with religion. Either way, either side that you are on, stop trying to preach your opinions to others. You believe in religion? Cool. You don't believe in religion? Cool. Leave it at that why don't ya.
  19. Captain Phillips was pretty solid. Would recommend it. 8.5
