  1. Glad you posted this subject. I took heat for claiming that both Edmonton and Calgary fizzle sooner than later. I'll add to your points. Clueless ownership hiring old players with little or no hockey business experience. Cost them dearly. I just need to put some of this on ownership in Edmonton just like I put it on Aqualini. Aqualini obviously came out admitted the short comings and made the changes putting real professionals charge. Now we're seeing how inadequately prepared Jim Benning was on almost a daily basis. I think he thought it was 1979. Simply Rutherford's approach shows how ill prepared and out of touch Benning was almost on a daily basis. Year after year it seems Edmonton hires a guy thats gonna do this or that and seemingly it never happens. The biggest problems lie up stairs and they need addressing so they get some decent players to play with the two top guys. Personably I love it. Calgary isn't far behind in this area. Hiring Sutter is a joke, they built a Darrel Sutter LA type team, like he had in LA. Well that style of Playoff team has gone the way of the dodo bird. Now teams are not only big they can skate and they have skill and sport youth. This present flames joke doesn't nearly have the talent nor youth that the LA team Sutter coached to a CUP, not even close. So what is management thinking in Calgary? Another loser outcome.
  2. I think Jim Rutherford mentioning this road trip when hews hired tells a lot. He knew this would be tell tail trip and it is. This team is not ready for prime time yet, far from it. The pile of bull$hit Benning fed fans is in full view. This isn't on coaching now this is on the players. Hopefully they salvage something here but this goes beyond todays contest. Start with players like Tanner Pearson I expect a good shake up before the deadline. this is not a stanley cup team nor a playoff team.
  3. What? Pearson has been average at best. Never consistent in effort. Why did Pittsburg trade him in the first place? because they afford to let him go.There's little value in this guy now. I look for management to improve at his position very soon. This guy pedestrian at best.
  4. I did read your post and know the history well. I just disagree with your great points.
  5. What? This team hasn't been given a fair chance in Phoenix? I respectfully beg to differ strongly. how many years have they been in Arizona to get it figured out? This has been an on going problem since day one. Poor owners, the wrong management to start with. They've had to go to the city for tax breaks. Even with new ownership this is a present disaster. how in the hell does an organization miss that kind of a payment, oops. Sorry at that level and that level for years a pattern of poor business practices can hardly be blamed on the city of Phoenix for not giving this franchise a fare shot. Far from it. Ownership and the league have facilitated failure at every level. You've stated the obvious about a decade too late. You make strong points but i don't think Phoenix can be to blame. League owners need to reign Bettmen in and tell him enough is enough. The league keeps propping this crap show up. One more thing, The Coyotes had a full NHL team, experienced and cohesive when they moved from Winnipeg to Phoenix unlike Vegas that had a expansion draft like no other. You're comparing apples and oranges.
  6. Last night Calgary goes into Tampa and gets their a$$ kicked. I think this puts things into perspective when it comes to Calgary playing a good team, the reigning champs. Didn't go well and i think the lame old school philosophy Darryl Sutter is trying to implement is going to fail. Sutter using the formula that landed him success in LA. That's already a decade ago and things have changed yet again. Tampa has pure speed Calgary has only half speed because they carry plugs like Gudbranson and Lucic. That makes for one or two slow lines with cement hands. Calgary isn't even close to the talent that of Cup winning LA had. Dream on Darrel, they might make the playoffs but will fizzle, Edmonton looks to have already fizzled.
  7. I'm not surprised. I thought at? the beginning of the season they'd not done enough. Duncan Keith? His stats from last season had him at the bottom of the year. Seems to get beaten wide... last season that was the book on him and its the same this year. Then goaltending. I don't know what Ken Holland was thinking? Or not thinking. Then the back end is still a joke past Darnell Nurse who as played average of late. What I was surprised at is how poorly Vancouver started with what I think was a better line up than Edmonton's past the two Edmonton stars. I don't see Edmonton getting any better all of a sudden. I'm just surprised it took so long. I love it.
  8. Thanks I think I did see him this evening I'm glad they kept him.
  9. That's right Boudreau had zero effect other than presence. He spoke with individual players I'm sure that had no effect when talking about an individuals game. none at all. I will agree they finally played like they were professions.
  10. How can he be a whipping boy when he's not even playing?
  11. Who cares with guy any more, the mystery man that plays defense slow.
  12. Agreed. However I think big change is in the wind. It's one thing to ride a two game winning streak into your home rink but to chirp a stinky coil of a game like last night was inexcusable. Aqualini is nationally embarrassed on HNC. Good! The only excuse for no change at this point is the fact the change is happening behind closed doors. The only change we hear now is loose change rattling in Aqaulinis pockets. I do believe big change is coming. You know it I know it and we're growing weary yet I know it comes. I just can't get over the group wanting to wait and see, they'll pull out of this right, lol Not us we are suffering as many others do this morning. Answer_ put booze in your coffee this morning.
  13. He's up he's down who cares any more hes ineffective.
  14. Poolman has been average at best reflecting below average defense.
  15. This goes well beyond a league investigation. I don't trust the league and don't trust Kane.
  16. ok that makes some sense but why is the player still a topic along with others long gone?
  17. I think both of your statements hold water. When the employee starts the job clock they need to preform the duties within signed a contract. We even have that expectation of any one hired to preform a certain function. It's still on the GM for signing the player if they're duds. Leadership starts at the top and resonates in all directions. It should be a position of discipleship where every one is growing with in their positions on the team , management or players. The person or persons installed at the top usually reflect their personalities with in the org. When listening to JB i don't question his sincerity I question his spirit. It's flat, mono tone and nothing to get excited about. Jim can say their group is excited about this player or that player but it never has any pep. Just a mono tone effort. There's a big picture past blame and settles on the fact you can't hire flatliners. It also gives the Aqualini group the appearance of flat liners lining their pockets. Maybe this is the type of people Aqualini's need so they have full control. It's proving to me over the long run at this point ownership needs some serious growth. This past period with Benning in charge has been a disaster. Benning's so called indifference has trickled down to the product on the ice. Travis Green seems to have lost his spirit too. There's a lot of responsibility just sitting there waiting to be taken by management down to the players. lots of talk but no one really taking responsibility.
