  1. I liked Burrough's compete level but he's no Soucy. Not even close. I like the upgrade
  2. Nice to see nothing g splashy. Prudent moves. As others have clearly stated there’s a couple months left before training camp. 2 months of I don’t give a hockey damn . I like the sound approach here. I also like that Miller is still a Canuck
  3. Right. They haven't even a move yet and you state PA has dropped the ball. lol
  4. Lots of older player being taken for higher loot and term than I would be comfortable with. I'm not saying we're not going to pick up some age but term and cap hit concern me a bit with older players. Canucks hopefully have learned from their own over spending mistakes.
  5. A lot of older players signed early. I'm surprised they got the term they have been getting.
  6. Glad Schenn went some where other than Vancouver. Great guy but getting too old.
  7. I think Vancouver has enough smaller players in the system although they’ve increased the size of their prospect pipeline of late. Enough Conor Garlands already .
  8. So you're saying you don't get it.
  9. Who cares about the opinions around here? Fans on this forum in particular are always bitching about something. The fans on this forum amount to a meniscal % of Canucks fans. There are some very knowledgeable fans here but most are still speculative in general. Including myself.
  10. Lets not forget, people think they know, they don't generally have a clue. People speculate far more than management. People don't have a scouting departments they just have views based upon speculative hockey media views.
  11. this appears to be an excellent building block on a sparce back end. Time will tell:) I like this pick.
  12. I think bringing Trotz on board was huge for Nashville, he might have been their biggest move. Things look god in Nashville.
  13. I was wondering that too, tear down mode or what ever other description can be used for rebuild. Nashville made some huge moves , bringing in Berry Trotz as new GM for starters coupled with new coaching. To your point I think we watch what happens to Saros. This is a seemingly smart management group that may just tweak the line up.
  14. There's no comparative evidence of such involvement in covering up anything let alone rape. His sin in Chicago, and it got him fired was his lack of understanding of the cap. Money issues. He got canned because of poor executive moves.
  15. While reading your post, which I agree with, I thought about the fact Benning and company had figuratively speaking a shabby office set up. They got rid of good people who's job it was to work cap space and do accounting. The Lawrence Gilman's of the world come to mind. Benning was in total control, something he wanted to have from the beginning. It was his job to hire all these other departments. Last I checked the Sedins weren't chartered accountants, they were hockey advisers. Big difference. The buck stopped with Benning putting weight to any recommendations from the Sedins or any one else. This is on Benning not the Sedins. l
  16. I'd have to agree, barring this injury tripping things up I'd have to have more faith in the coaching structure to continue his game growth better than Bruce's system brought to the table. This damn injury is the wild card. Thats the chance any player takes playing outside of the NHL and I just hope it goes well for him. I'd just get the operation over with because it always seems in theses cases that they hope the injury will heal and over time it doesn't and they end up operating. i just hope they don't fumble around with the decision to operate.
  17. Can they afford to walk on Bear?
  18. My first thought was 'Oh $hit!' I instantly see an OEL year coming from this guy. Trying to be ready for training camp and not totally ready or having the surgery and not joining the group until later in the season. The two options if they resign him. Begs the question if they should resign him under the present circumstances. Can they afford the time to wait for him to heal. He did go to the World Championships on his own accord, a chance I think every player that goes takes. Looking back on OEL's past season and thinking Bear could have a similar season makes me simply wonder if Vancouver should move on from this guy. A tough heartless business decision. I'm sure it's on the option board. $hit luck for both Vancouver and Bear.
  19. I'd love to see a grade for the line up of 650 radio hosts.
