  1. or, if Scrodosmurf is your 3rd line C.
  2. Sedin Kesler Scrodo Yappy No. This would suck on many levels.
  3. Would a whip-cracking coach have changed the way the Canucks played against Boston in the final? Or against LA the next year? No. So, why would KB be wrong to say that the Canucks don't "need" this. They don't. I agree with KB. He is not "bigger than the team" to say this. It is just KB being KB. Soft-core.
  4. Who else did he play under then? You responded to my post, not the other way around.
  5. Ballard is a decent scrapper, actually. I will give him that.
  6. But you can with a coach? He is getting ragged on in here for stating the obvious in that "this" not a coaching issue, yet we like the guy becasue he IS vocal.
  7. Crow??? lol, come on. Rush the puck and no D? You have a point alright, but come on... I like KB, just not here so much, anymore with Tanev and his twin emerging as puck movers.
  8. Really...? Are you a systems guy? Explain to me how this system hasn't make a guy like KB look good, if this is simply speculation and irrelevant. Compare the two systems if you like.
  9. I agree, to an extent, but KB's success is also a result of AV's system. He might not look so good in Nashville, say.
  10. The coach didnt get run out of the rink in that series... the country club did, this includes KB. This was not coaching. That was such an ace-kicking. Would a crack of the whip by a coach made the Canucks play like men in that series or the next against LA, another physically dominant team? Haha, no. So, KB is right to say these things. This is a roster issue. Gillis is responsible for the roster, he should be taking ALL the blame at this point.
  11. Turn over machine Kevin should be gone. We all like his character, but he is a liability on the ice. His tough game, played at 200lbs, isn't enough to scare anybody and his D is known as sloppy. To deny this is to have contempt for thought. I think his statement is taken out of context as far as what professional hockey players in their primes need from the coaching staff by some of you.
  12. I bet the new coach will make the Sedins go through Chara to score in game 7. Maybe he will even make them stop being punched in the face and stick up for themselves? He will probably even trade Luongo and Ballard and... I bet his centers arent AHL smurfs in checking roles. I look forward to this new, relaxed coach.
  13. nice. are these excuses and more well wishing? reality is over here, come on. He is not going to help us get us a cup as a 3rd line center. Isnt that the goal? Or is it to watch another Roy-esque 3rd line center do his thing? Wake up.
  14. or no, we don't hope to have him beat the odds and become a miracle like St Louis, and trade him for something we need, like A 3RD LINE CENTER while we still have a competitive team in its prime. Schrodo will hope to be as good as Roy and we've played that experiment already. Moving on. Gaunce though, he's probably a few years away and I wonder what he weighs now? If all goes well, we will have a true Joel Otto type of guy, something we've never had at center besides Linden. I hope Gillis drafts some more big, character guy; Canadian guys with an edge to their game.
  15. I guess he will get his chance to make an impact in a top 6 role with 2 of these players being injured. We will see what he offers to the team once the season gets rolling and everybody is caught up in conditioning. I'm excited, but realistic here.
  16. Does he have great speed? I agree, speed is great but finish is great too. See Macy Ray. Since you brought is up, I dont see much to suggest that Jordan will make an impact in the game. Perhaps as a 2nd liner on a weak team he will see some production, but he is showing nothing stat wise (evidence) as to back up your claim here. He plays in every situation and plays lots. Where are his stats? His speed and finish? He is not impressing with his speed, really. He is but what 0.6 PPG? As their go to guy? Hey, it could happen.
  17. His size is ONLY an issue because he is spoken of here as the Canucks possible 3rd line center where you can't be small, unphysical and all the rest that a cup team needs in that role. There is no more to it than that. I hope we package the guy up with Lu and send him to Florida or something where he can get a real shot to play HIS game as he is NOT a checking center. Size matters there.
  18. Oh, so we are talking mainly past tense now...? That he was tops? As far as writing him off, no, I'm just the big bad realist who sees no place for him as a 3rd line center on the Canucks. Reasons for this have been stated in past posts. As far as comparing him ro Parise, St. Louis and the like is getting so very CDC. The Wolves boast zero higher-end skill so small wonder we have him as our most talented/skilled Wolf. Compare him to his AHL peers and... he looks? The Caucks are loaded with skill and are farming role players at the moment. This guy is not 5'9, he is smaller. Glad we could put on our big boy pants and admit some truths on here, especially relevant to 2012. If a guy were to come on here and read these homer posts he'd be under the impression that this guy was not only copmarable in size to Parise, but was also similarly suited to a checking role like Bolland, has the speed of Bure and is likely to become Martin St. Louis... if we'd just give him the chance. He just needs time. A spade is a spade outside of this thread. The Canucks still require a 3rd line center and the odds of Jordan getting this job are slim to none so it is safe to say that he will be given ample time to turn into Parise, in the AHL.
  19. hey, why stop there... Gretzky was only 176lbs and Dionne was also a smurf, so I guess a third line hopefull should be compared as such? Should we really draw on these numbers to foster support for Jordan? ha Why not compare him to what he is up against. Should we start with Getzlaf? Kane doesnt play a checking game and really? Do I have to point out the moot point in comparing a half talent-halfling to NHL elite small men, especially in this roster case? Come on, homer. Call a spade a spade.
