I pass his seat going to mine at times and, at first, was reluctant to "bother" him.  So, it was a quick "hello, you are one of my hockey idols" the first time I gathered enough courage to actually speak to him.  It's been wonderful being able to express my gratitude for his professionalism and to share our love of this game.  And, of course, I've had to mention "the call" as one of the greatest sports moments in my life to him.  He is so humble and approachable.  

Feel honoured to have met some of the great hockey men of the past: JR, Pat Quinn, Punch McLean.  Oh, the stories they could likely tell (Punch likes to share them).

I first met Jim Robson, similar greeting to yours Deb. When they allowed riff raff like me into the Coliseum to watch Canuck practices as well as the other visiting teams, I got the nerve to approach him and strike up a conversation. Very down to earth guy. He could write several books I'm sure. I hope someone in his immediate family is jotting down notes.
