  1. Man, I go from completely disagreeing with you in the "Trade Mason Raymond" thread to completely agreeing with you in the "Kyle Wellwood" thread. Your opinions should be the same as mine, dammit! Conform!

  2. Awesome people who love awesome things. This is the best thread.
  3. This is the first thread I looked for this morning. I love it.
  4. He's back! And still unwilling to admit that he's an idiot... This is the best thread ever...
  5. More Burrows goodness: he was second on the Canucks in Takeaways, trailing only Ryan Kesler.
  6. There's a reason Burrows is playing in the NHL and Krog has yet to play a full season in the NHL. Figure it out. And he gets paid far too much for it. I would rather have the cap space this season to give us a legitimate opportunity of picking up a top-six forward, either Sundin through free agency or through a trade.
  7. Of course he'll want a raise. It'll be damn well-deserved as well. I'm just saying it would be very foolish to trade him right now when he's such a bargain. As long as Gillis makes his raise reasonable (ie. not the kind of raise Cooke got, which was ridiculous, I agree), he'll be a quality player on the Canucks for years to come.
  8. A. You're not going to get a player better than Burrows by trading him away. That's not how trades work. B. Burrows is not dead weight. If you're saying trade Burrows for a pick or a prospect, who will you replace him with? Pettinger? Burrows is better than Pettinger (with, perhaps, slightly less offensive upside) and gets paid half what Pettinger makes. Give your head a shake.
  9. Congratulations. You read five words of my post. You apparently missed the last half: He led the Canucks in PIM, short-handed goals, and plus/minus. He also scored 3 gamewinners, tied for second on the Canucks last season in that category and was second on the team in hits. All that for league minimum, in the salary cap era, makes him a very difficult player to replace.
  10. Trading away one of the best deals in the NHL during the salary cap era would also be bad business.
  11. Burrows is the best bargain in the NHL. 31 points for the league minimum is a steal of a deal right there. Then you factor in the fact that he's one of the best agitators in the league, a great penalty killer, and a solid character guy and you have a golden player. He led the Canucks in PIM, short-handed goals, and plus/minus. He also scored 3 gamewinners, tied for second on the Canucks last season in that category and was second on the team in hits. Essentially, you're an idiot. Burrows is not a player that is easily replaced.
  12. Amen about Markus. His commitment over the last two seasons to Vigneault's system led to a drastic drop in his offensive production and he shouldered most of the blame. I will remain a Naslund fan no matter what happens in this off-season.
