  1. Honestly not sure why anyone listens to this hockey drivel anymore. I stopped years ago. The "takes" are meant to build audience, nothing more. Listeners are sheep being led to the slaughter. Hockey lemmings that obtain their "take" from a radio hockey bozo and then come share it on CDC. Comical and sad. That's my take.
  2. He's not wrong. Aman is hot garbage that Alvin seems to like. I thought Joshua played well at times but not a consistent effort.
  3. Underwhelming. So that is status quo with my opinion on Rutherford and Allvin. I'm editing because overall I think yesterdays additions were solid and the one-year with Cole and Blueger are show me contracts and at the very least another year of development for some of our young D.
  4. Don't agree on your Nonis theory. He traded loads of draft picks for what turned out to be the Square root of F All. He was fired for sheer incompetence. (Although the Loungo trade was a good one and helped Gillis almost get us the Cup)
  5. I'm just glad to see us grab a RHD and address our core weakness finally. Seems to be aged correctly to run with our current core. A drafted D-man, mid first is likely 3-4 years away if we aren't rushing him. Second move that hasn't pissed me off. Didn't mind the Schenn deal either. Yes, it would have been nice to get more than a 3rd but people seem to forget he was almost out of the league when we took a flyer on him the first time. Hope we can get him back and he can be a 5-7 Depth D-man where he belongs at this point
  6. Disagree on that one. In particular Pettersson should have been in camp coming off the injury. He's was very slow out of the gate and realistically wasted a year. With that said, to answer the OP, he's certainly coming into his own as is Hughes. I appreciate their play but I'm pretty done with the mis-management on this team and expecting them to bolt when they get the chance.
  7. I'm underwhelmed with the return albeit for a UFA we could lose for nothing. So from that standpoint it's a nice change. Still, I would have preferred to trade Miller last year or not sign Mikhyev in order to keep him. I'm just not confident in this management group to utilize that first pick effectively. We have a porous D. When are we going to fix that if not with a key piece like Bo?
  8. Chances are I've invested more time and money than you with this team over the years. I've got the right to be disenchanted with a team that has become a rudderless ship. Internally as an organization I've worked with them in marketing with some of my clients only to watch their best people run screaming from the building to be replaced by inexperienced incompetents. The problem is organizational wide and for the first time I have little to no confidence in the potential to right the ship. So, I would appreciate you stay off your high judgmental pedestal with that sort of comment. A bandwagon fan deserves it. I don't. Cheers Hope I'm wrong.
  9. A 1st rounder is only a good return if you have confidence in those making the selection. Last year's pick appears to be leaning towards a bust. Protected from Top 12. Beauvillier can't seem to stay healthy or play with any consistency. Raty............prospect.........nothing more. Trade Alvin & His Chipmunks. Trade Francesco. Trade Trader Jim. Hope I'm wrong. Doubt I am.
  10. I'm out. Cancelling the Season's tickets after 28 years. Horvat isn't who should be leaving town. Rather underwhelming trade.
  11. I agree with your perspective although I'm not 100% onboard with him pairing "very very well with Petey". I can agree with it looking promising. Like I said he's a nice to have. I just feel the real focus of our summer was on solving that backend or at least moving it forward and they failed there.
  12. Still baffled by the Mikheyev signing. Yes, he adds more speed, but he's a nice to have, not a need. We should have focused on defense this offseason.
  13. What do you mean? They have had 4 excellent starts. Unfortunately, 4 crushing endings. Good thing is we aren't mathematically eliminated yet.
  14. Getting the 3-0 lead was actually a curse. They literally didn't play with the same energy or urgency the rest of the game. They didn't bear down on the PP and create more opportunities. Generally, I abhor fans that scream shoot on the PP as they wouldn't know a shooting lane from the crack of their a$$. However, there was definite overpassing and the hope for a pretty one with the early lead. I may have yelled "Shoot the (Expletive) puck" at my TV screen on several occasions. The quantity of power plays also destroyed the flow of the game and left many of our skaters disconnected from the game. It was a sloppy mess for much of the 5 on 5 as we got later in the game. On to Philly. Still hoping to go 3-2 to start the year on the road.
  15. Kuzmenko appears more well-rounded? Let's be clear he hasn't played a single NHL game. Not a single second. Am I excited at the early looks, sure. I also remember Canucks fans anointing Jason King and Sergei Shirokov as the next coming after good pre-seasons. Eddie Vedder (great name, great band), your contention that Boeser scores a few lucky ones is preposterous and unbecoming someone using Eddie's name. I will agree Horvat is the more essential piece in the roster though.
  16. Dear Hockey Gods, Can this poor bastard ever get a "break" that doesn't include a body part, please? Leave the kid alone. Thank you. That is All.
  17. Where are all the "he doesn't want to play in Vancouver " folks??? ................(crickets)
  18. Those that want to toss Pearson for a POS like Clutterbuck should stop watching hockey because you clearly haven' the foggiest ****ing clue.
