  1. Jonah Gadjovich | LW

Was going to post the same thing I'd be pretty happy with adding Kane this summer too. In a couple years, if we could add Kane to Horvat, Virtanen and Gadjovich (maybe MacEwan too) all sprinkled throughout the forward lines, this team becomes a LOT harder to play against. Add in some skilled 'pests' in Gaudette, Lind and even Dahlen and some pure skill guys (Pettersson, Boeser, Baer, Goldobin) around them and they won't be a fun team to play against.
  2. Sven Baertschi | #47 | Left Wing

IMO, we need some size in our top 6 and that's why I see Benning pushing for Kane this summer. A future top line of Kane, Pettersson, Boeser would be pretty deadly IMO. Baer, Horvat, Virtanen? on the future 2nd with the possibility some of Dahlen, Goldobin, Lind etc make Baer expendable/push Virtanen down etc.
  3. Alexander Edler | #23 | Defenceman

I really hope we can swing Edler, with 50% retained (+/-) for Cal Foote...
  4. Michael Del Zotto | #4 | Defenceman

I have to think the key thing keeping Biega in is that he's right handed. We've already got Pouliot playing his off side, pulling Biega (on top of both Tanev and Stecher being out) would leave only Gudbranson as the only natural righty.

Damn. Too bad he couldn't get healthy, guy has NHL level skill but crappy luck lol
  6. Elias Pettersson | C/LW

I don't know if it will take that long. I could see him start next year in Utica and then get called up at the TDL after we move out more guys. Then start up here the following fall. May still be on wing at that point though. And that's probably fine as I could see Gaudette start here next here and we'd have Horvat, Sutter, Gaudette, Granlund/Gagner/Gaunce etc as our available C depth.
  7. Elias Pettersson | C/LW

He could very well step right in, he certainly appears skilled enough. But let's not forget that even the mighty Nylander spent some time in the AHL. Pettersson too may require some time there to adjust. Well find out soon enough.
  8. The best teams also have a 'nuclear deterrent' or two sprinkled throughout their lineups.
  9. Sven Baertschi | #47 | Left Wing

I'd consider trading Baer at the TDL *depending on what the return is*. But it's far more likely we re-sign and wait and see if another kid can steal his spot in the next few years. Signing Kane this summer would also vastly improve our top 6 LW depth. If we sign Kane and one of Dahlen, Goldobin etc look amazing, it could make Sven expendable as early as next year. Doubt that hapens though.
  10. It's not ignoring anything, it's looking at context.
  11. Probably has something to do with him playing hockey and not some non-existent sport called 'possession-ey'.
  12. I usually see him make at least one solid hit a game and make his presence known clearing the crease, in scrums etc. He can't do it all alone though and certainly not when he's on the bench. He also needs to stay on the right side of the edge so as to not cost the team with penalties. As the rebuild continues, I hope to see him supplemented (ie: not replaced) with a maturing Virtanen, perhaps Kane this summer, Gadjovich and hopefully the eventual return of Tryamkin. That element sprinkled throughout the lineup and supplemented by guys like Horvat and more skilled 'pests' like Lind, Gaudette, Lockwood and even Dahlen to some extent, should make us a FAR harder team to play against.
  13. Elias Pettersson | C/LW

Don't get me wrong, I'd be perfectly happy to get him -and Gordie knows we're due some lotto luck from the hockey gods- but any of the top D I'd be a-ok with.
  14. You know what's scarier than the guy making a bunch of 'noise' to keep you in line and on your toes? The guy that rarely has to do anything beyond being on the ice, that's what.
