  1. Agreed  You can add Toews/Kane and Crosby/Malkin to that list. In short.....................Sedins are Canucks forever! 'nuff said.
  2. Goalies covering puck outside of the crease

Let's bring back the "Roaming" goalies! Rock on Gary "Suitcase" Smith!!!
  3. I'm sure all the mental and physical abuse that Joffery layed on Sansa toughened her up, or at the very least numbed her to the point of just reluctantly letting things go where they may. Remember, Joffery was a total dick not just to her. Not poor writing. A necessary scene in my opinion. Her and Theone are still alive. I've jumped off a roof into deep snow before and came out grinnin'! That being said, a castle wall is much higher, but's TV and if they can bring back the dead, then they can survive jumping off tall structures!
  4. The Great Wall of America. 8th wonder of the world!
  5. Getting rid of the fragile mindset of this team

To describe the current Canucks as having a fragile mindset is not far from the truth; as far as we the fans perceive. Now..the Sharks. ........ The San Jose Sharks have what I would see as a definite fragility; as do the Sharks organization and their fans. They've made it the post season the large percentage of the time since they came into the league, and since 2000 they've placed 1 or 2 in the Pacific. Not once did they play for the cup in the finals. Going by the new Canucks management team concept and fix up since the MG/Torts disaster; the return to the playoffs last season..............I see no fragile issues here. Go Canucks Go!!!
  6. Who are the Canucks' biggest rivals?

IMHO.................All of the above and then some!
  7. Who do we Draft?!?!

Is there any potential stud d-man available to us in this years draft?
  8. What's your excuse for eating meat?

I just plain like meat. No excuse required, thank you.
  9. Are Psychics real

Googled it. Keywords make all the difference. Skeptics, believers, and doubters will always be present as with anything controversial in this medium. To each their own. ("Medium"......pun intended! )
  10. Are Psychics real

I believe they are. Certainly not in the sense that most everyone in here thinks. Most don't profess to know the future. There are psychics with different abilities........ Astral Projection - The ability to leave one's body and travel in spirit to another location. Aura Reading - The ability to see the energy fields that emanate from living beings. Psychic ability can often reveal itself throught the seeing of auras. Automatic Writing - Writing through the subconscious mind without conscious thought, or through the guidance of an outside intelligence. Channeling - Associated with mediums, this is the ability to act as a channel or vessel for an outside intelligence. Clairaudience - Put simply, this type of ability is used to hear what is "inaudible". For example, someone with this ability could be a thousand miles way and "hear" a loved one's cry of distress. Clairvoyance - Usually confused with Precognition, this ability actually has much more in common with "Remote Viewing", True clairvoyance is not the abilitly to see into the future, but the psychic ability to see visions of that which is hidden or far away. Clairsentience - In this instance the psychic has an insight or "knowing" of and a hidden or forgotten fact. Divination - A broad term that includes fortune telling, precognition, prophesy, and other methods used in an effort to predict the future. Dowsing - Also known as "water witching", dowsing involves the use of a rod, sticks, or pendulum to locate water or lost objects. Empathy - The talent to sense the needs, drives, and emotions of another. As with Aura Reading, psychic ability can often reveal itself through the development of empathy. E.S.P. - Extra Sensory Perception is the awareness of information about events external to the psychic that are not gained through the senses and not deducible from previous experience. Often used to describe clairvoyance, precognition, telepathy, etc... Intuition - Similar to clairsentience, this is the power or faculty of attaining direct knowledge or cognition without rational thought or inference. Levitation - The ability to cause one's body to hover off the ground. One of the more well-documented cases of levitation involved St. Theresa of Avila during the 16th century. Mind Over Body - Suppressing or mentally satisfying the need for water, food, or sleep. There is some debate over whether this is actually a psychic ability since many of those who are associated with this trait (monks, yogis, mystics, etc...) are not generally called "psychics". Precognition - Quite simply, "knowing the future". However, since time is a dynamic construct, no one psychic can ever know every detail about the future. Usually this ability refers to knowing general outcomes of specific courses of action, with occasional flashes of detailed insight. Psychometry - Also known as "object reading", psychometry enables a psychic to pick up on psychic impressions (vibrations) left on an object by someone connected with it. Someone with this ability could use an unfamiliar object to reveal much about its owner. Pyrokinesis - The ability to start fires with one's mind. Telekinesis - Also known as psychokinesis, the ability to move objects with one's mind. Telepathy - The ability to communicate mind-to-mind with another. I have a some of close friends who are clairsentient. They do readings for individuals locally and run a spiritual center where they teach about all things "psychic." They also travel abroad often to teach and do demonstrations. Believe me. They're not gettin' rich doin' this and being ordained ministers, they give and serve more than they take.
  11. Sportsnet Production Crew

Ahhhhh............ the magic of TV. I actually don't mind the new viewing angles brought in to SN's NHL broadcasts. The vast majority of the game is viewed via the normal angle that we've all been accustomed to. As many have commented in this thread, I also prefer that angle. I like it when they cut to the behind the net cam. Reminds me of the games I saw live at Roger's Arena when I had seats behind Lou. I also like the sky cam. It's obviously a TV broadcast thing only and viewers, live or watching on TV, will never see something like that unless they can fly or sneak in a drone. God forbid! I sure hope SN isn't thinking about camera drones for live broadcasts. Anywho,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I'm fine with new broadcast technology to our game. So long as it doesn't take away from the body of the game. Go Canucks Go!
  12. Tipping, what qualifies a job as tippable?

Has this been answered yet in this thread? From what I've observed, any job in the hospitality/service sector that doesn't require a technical/college/university education qualifies. It's been customary to leave gratuities to food servers, valets, porters, bellhops, housecleaning, etc. As far as counterpersons....... that is those who serve food over the counter, it's not customary to tip them. However more and more of these food establishments are placing a tip jar on the counter for those wishing to do so. Tipping those in professions outside of the food/hospitality that qualify to the above, locksmiths, professional drivers, road emergency, etc aren't usually tipped save for taxi drivers, but I tip them nonetheless. Tipping is optional to those in the technical skilled professions as well. Those who have mobile services or small in home services such as mechanics, landscapers, cosmetic, etc. I tip mechanics at private business shops, but not dealership garages or big chains
  13. [News] Jensen Recalled

Did anyone notice in yesterdays telecast game vs the Islanders, the shot in the press box of Trevor Linden with Nick Jensen sitting to Lindens left. They were both facing each other; Linden moving his hands while talking and Jensen appearing very attentive. Trevor obviously schooling the young lad! Go Canucks Go!
  14. Bo being touted as a ROR type player is insignificant. What is significant is that we have enough centre position players in the organization. We need Edler. A straight up trade for ROR would be an obtuse action to take. If we're only satisfied to make the playoffs but not contend for a cup, then this rumoured trade needs to be sweetened up with the addition of a 2nd or 3rd round pick in exchange for Edler only. Yeah okay........Avs need defence more than we need centres. But in my mind, we need some depth on defence and giving up Edler wouldn't may any sense at all. A real PMD is what we need to contend for the cup. Edler might be that but we have nothing as such after him.
  15. Why is it considered selfish to be childless by choice?

I see 'legacy' mentioned, but not bloodlines. A Legacy can endure even though bloodlines have ended. Those who've chosen to have children whether they know it or not, keep the bloodline of their ancestors going generation after generation. That being said........................ Immoral not to have kids?!?!!????? WTF?!?!?!?!!?!? It's not a "smart" or "dumb" choice, nor is it a "right" or "wrong" choice. It's simply a choice. Plain and simple. Whether it be driven by tradition, religion, superstition, whatever, the necessity to bear children when pair bonding is an old school train of thought. Most prevalent with ethnic people. Maybe North Americans, Europeans and most Commonwealth nations have witnessed too many divorces and broken family situations and the result becomes a choice or decision not to have children.
