  1. I'd do it. He's remembered as bad defensively, especially in the cup final but that's likely due to his heavily increased minutes and having more pressure on him to perform. I think he's similar to Bieksa in that you control his minutes and have him as a piece in the puzzle rather than focus on him being your #1 guy. He was a +50 in his time here and ~ 0.6PPG. Due to the powerplay, obviously.

With the rumour that WD wants to bring in Doug Lidster as an assistant, and Lidster is one of the highest scoring Canucks defensemen of all time, that could be an interesting dynamic. Although Lidster was a career -90...

Some team is going to pay him 4 - 5M on a 5yr term, if that's what he wants though.

  2. Going for Iginla makes no sense to me or for Iginla himself. Hes in a win now and his career window is closing. Coming into a rebuild or retool isn't going to help his chances to hoist a cup.

Can always trade him at the deadline to a contender if it doesnt work out, getting 2015 picks in return. The deadline is when picks are generally the cheapest.

Henrik is a quality center and could help Iginla put up big numbers with potential bonuses.

    Reports he's looking for a 2yr deal.

Jarome Iginla is looking at a 2 year deal. The only team he would accept to go for 1 season is Boston. #tvasports

  3. That's ridiculous imo. We will have been duped. There is not that much difference between 1 and 6. Look at how these players have shuffled about.

I don't trust us to get a square deal in this and if we don't we should walk.

If you want your guy, you are not going to get square.

The way I see it is that Benning had a master plan through this whole thing to dump some pieces and acquire others, plus free up cap space. His ultimate goal in my mind was to get the #1 pick and draft Reinhart, and fill holes through UFA.

    4. One team that has definitely made an offer? Vancouver. I believe it included their first pick in this draft (which is sixth overall) and Hunter Shinkaruk, who was taken 24th in 2013. There was at least one other piece, probably off the main roster, but I can't pin it down. It's not Ryan Kesler, who won't go there.

Nope. Don't like it. We need more goal scoring / sniper prospects, if anything. It pains me to say, but I prefer the Tanev + 6th deal.

  5. Money, I've been trying to point this out for awhile. The guy can't do anyting unless it's a good deal. Like he's some kind of super garage sailer, or Wal-Mart shopper. It's really not as complicated as he makes it out to be. You get a certain amount of money, you assemble the best team you can, not the best team for your buck. Hey asswipe you get $70m a year you don't have to be a cheap funk.

    W/out Henrik & Santorelli, Tanev (5), Booth (5) & Sestito (4) are all top-ten goal scorers in tonight's #Canucks line-up vs EDM

Kind of a strech, but what else is new for Paterson but ragging on goal scoring.

Booth, Tanev & Garrison are all tied for 9th in scoring with 5 goals. WITH Henrik and Santo in the lineup.

edit: formatting fail, check on tsn for yourselves =P
